Great article. Does nothing to change the fact the school president can fire the football coach any time she wants.
Lmao at the notion the University President doesn't have the ability to fire the head coach.
She's in charge of day to day operations at the school. Richard Fain and Stuart Miller have their own corporations to run. It's not their job to hire and fire coaches.
yes but if you've listened to the reports and talked w any of the BOT members, she doesn't have say in the golden situation bc of her status. shes a lame duck president and the BOT doesn't want her to make a decision that'll affect someone elses tenure esp one w financial consequences
She could fire Folden any time she chooses.
Any time she chooses? But according to hoops156... I'm confused.

Of course. Donna is a lame duck with nothing on her mind but how she is going to spend her retirement. James has even less power. The decision is in the hands of the BOT and they are split on Golden with the buyout only further complicating matters. This is pretty much what Vinn has being saying on the WEZ board for weeks.Great article. Does nothing to change the fact the school president can fire the football coach any time she wants.
i never said she couldnt, i just said in this case bc of her lame duck status, she doesn't have the power to do so. The BOT will decide if golden is given another shot this year.
Any decision about the head football coach at Miami will not be made by athletic director Blake James or President Donna E. Shalala. The decision will come straight from the Board of Trustees, with much of the say coming from the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Stuart Miller. Miller, a UM Law School alum, and CEO of Lennar Corporation, is said to be very “authoritative and opinionated.” He’s also very passionate about UM Athletics. Miller’s father, Leonard, who passed away in 2002, was the Chairman of the Board of Trustees from 1995-1999. The elder Miller was on the BOT from 1983 until the time he passed away. Oh, and the medical school is named after him. The Miller family holds considerable influence at The U to say the least.

Waits for answer....
of course mullen is there and probably given a raise bc of the performance of MSU under him. i never disagreed w u about the golden. he shouldve been fired after that pitt game (really after GT), but since he hasn't been fired yet, he likely wont be until next year if he doesn't get us to the ACCCG and wins double digit games. it should really be a former BCS bowl next year since FSU would be losing a heisman winner at QB. idk where u got that i was a golden supporter? is it bc i dont call the school racist lol? he's here for another year. accept it and move on.

go read what i posted based on actual media reports. it was reported that the BOT will not let anyone else fire golden. go have a sit down w DiMare and **** tell you his thoughts on this whole situation and hint: he wants staff changes not a HC firing bc he seems willing to give golden another chance.

Do you understand that racist organizations hire black people all the time? You know why they do that? So puerile like you can say, "They're not racist. They hired a black guy."
Hiring a black guy doesn't excuse the racism of holding him to a much higher standard than the white guy you directly replaced him with. Focus on the disparate treatment, not the token hiring practices
Randy played a much weaker FSU team than what we've seen the last two years and really the last 4.

Or maybe, just maybe, Miami doesn't want to burden the search for a new president having to come in and not only pay Golden $8M to not coach here but to have to pay another coach to do the job.
Nah that can't be it, it's the racist Lebanese president of a university with 1/2 a student base of minority students that wants to prop up a white man. That's gotta be it.
