Is the running game as we once knew it dead and buried ? The purity of the game is now in question. Forget the past glory years kids we could name on 10 fingers we hardly can name one or 2. Why very simply the speed and the length of the defenses are too quick to not be able to sense it’s prey and thwart any chance of a breakaway play accept in very rare moments. We will need a few recruiting classes to get us in a position to be sucessful. You see this ratio of run to pass being close to 80 to 20 even in HS football which scoring is way up So while physicality is something this team should adopt as a culture getting drives that punish teams into submission. It will take time and new players to see that happen. For now free TVD he will find ways to get
things done we know that as fact.👍🙌❤️

not in the nfl, it's not. as much as the days of the bellcow RB have declined (with the notable exceptions of derrick henry, jonathan taylor, etc) the run game is crucial to the shanahan/mcvay-style offenses that half the **** league runs these days.

The traditional run game is dead. But RPO’s and short designed passes are basically the “new” running game.

Belichick said so himself a year or so ago when talking about the Shanahan offensive system. And now the Pats are adding those same offensive concepts to their playbook.

It’s a thought position and they don’t last very long.
It take a special kind of athlete to be mentally tough and physically gifted to take that kind of punishment for so many years. Just pass protection alone can take a **** toll on your body.

You’re 962 years old so I’ll cut you some slack for this awful post.
It’s awful why because there has been a complete cosmic shift in the schemes we see. The fact is the shotgun is now 80 20 what’s wrong with you watch the **** games it’s there for all to see. Teams throw a token run which usually gets stopped behind the line of scrimmage than 2 straight throws if they move the chains. Don’t call this post silly just watch the game in the pros colleges and highshools. It’s not rocket science🤔

The days of the bellcow averaging 30 carries a game is over, but the running game will never be over. A good offense will always need a healthy medium

Ironically you ran the ball to set up the throw now it’s the opposite but you rarely get the runs you need and go right back to the pass. Now all you self righteous indignant creeps don’t get the concept that the length size and speed of the modern football player is a logical answer to this but your so lost in your simple minded thinking that to me a lot of you are pathetically incapable of understanding a very basic concept. 😊🫠🙌❤️

The days of having 9 of your guys on offense lining up within a 5 x 10 yard box on each play are over. You still need to have a semblance of a running game to consistently win. I would agree that having a dominant run game is no longer a requirement as it was in the past.

I'd actually argue that you have to be more athletic along the lines to be successful nowadays as compared to that 3 yards and a pile of dust era.

I’m convinced at least half this board doesn’t actually watch football.
I say like 70% dont outside of miami teams of course..Then 25% of the remaining 30% doesn’t know what they’re watching
