Is the decline real at UGA?

They should be 2-2 right now. Team lacks focus, gets off to slow starts, makes tons of mistakes, lacks discipline, OL plays soft, the DL can barely generate any pressure, etc. They are clearly playing far below talent level. What would you call that? If some of you didn't love the great Kirby Smart, you'd look at this more objectively. They are very clearly a team in decline. Georgia looks like the 2002 or 2003 Canes, very talented but lacking focus. As I said only Saban can keep the machine going.

Georgia fans blamed all their problems on Beck last season because it's easier to blame the qb than accept the program is slipping. I been there before. 2003 blaming the OC and QB, but the problem was far more widespread.
If losing the team then explain how UGA is able to dominate late with games on the line. Overall talent is down, but crazy to suggest losing the team.

They are anything but dominant. They have trailed in almost every SEC game at half this season, regardless of the quality of opponent.

1. The defense at UGA for the last two seasons doesn't look like anything special until Vandy's season ends and Muschamp can devote time to putting the defense together.

2. For some reason we were told that UGA was upgrading at the QB position because Gunner drives a Ford pickup and he's more liked by his teammates.

3. UGA WRs haven't been the same since Hankton left for LSU.

4. UGA OL hasn't been the same since Matt Luke "retired" and then went to Clemson.

5. UGA has now slipped back to the pack in the SEC with everyone else. I don't feel they are any longer the class of the conference.
It might be talent issue on oline with uga! How does clemson oline look with Luke?

so yall need to walk some of your Kirby is corch comments back. he and bobo closed that game with coaching.
Yeah, mindful of the keyboard geniuses & others - you know who you are - who during recruitment of our top rated OT repeatedly trashed Kirby, Bobo & OL coach.

I still say UGA has taken a step back. But so has the SEC overall so it’s being masked. Texas is one of the most overrated teams in P4.

I was wrong on UGA this year. They are the 2nd best team in the country IMO.

OSU
UGA
IU- I guess
Texas Tech
OU
Oregon- I guess
Miami
ND
Ole Miss
Bama
BYU

I really hope B1G, Texas tech, Miami get to beat the **** out of sec teams in the cfp.

I hope oregon gets stunned bc they deserve to be dropped. that team is a fraud

I was critiqued on here; but I will maintain it; there needs to be an NIL cap in NCAA. As of *right now*, yes, the NIL stuff allows more parity. But the bigger schools will have larger markets, and eventually, pay backups money that will keep them on the bench at said school.

They need to nip it in the bud before the large schools, in the larger markets dominate.

I get it; no one wants to see someones earning potential to be capped. Historically speaking, though, changes had to be made for fairness. The NBA with its luxury tax, the NFL with its salary cap.

They need to address this now, or five to ten years from now, when the smaller teams are completely locked out because the big schools are spending ridiculous amounts of money, we are gonna revisit this subject and ask why things are the way they are.
