They can beat us and we can beat them
I pray our coaches don't see this data and conclude "we have to avoid negative plays and turnovers." We do not beat TAMU without pushing the ball down the middle of the field and at that weak corner.Turnover battle kind of game.
Texas A&M is ranked 111th in turnover margin. They've forced 9 total turnovers this year while giving up 16.
Miami is ranked 12th nationally with 20 forced turnovers and only giving up 11.
Play turnover free football, force Marcel into a few mistakes, and we win.
Yup and they are going to vacate the middle by blitzing their LBs up the middle at Carson, especially on 3rd downs. Dawson should be excited.I pray our coaches don't see this data and conclude "we have to avoid negative plays and turnovers." 15 point win at Kyle Field for their first ever playoff game there would be insane.Prediction: The wrong team is favored. Taking Miami 28, TAMU 13.
This^^ take the refs out of the game is the number one goal. Play clean. Psychologically penalties lead to turnovers. No penalties, no turnovers, we win.Game of the weekend. Alabama likely ***** the bed and the other two have no business being on the field together.
I think the TAMU Aggies are corny. I don't hate TAMU or Elko (I mean, he talked **** that one time in a huddle--all coaches do and I can understand why he hates Miami--they all do) I don't feel like their schedule was that brutal. They played
Team, Overall rec, (Conf rec)
AUB 5-7 (1-7)
MSST 5-7 (1-7)
UF 4-8 (2-6)
ARK 2-10 (0-8)
LSU 7-5 (3-5)
MIZZOU 8-4 (4-4)
SCAR 4-8 (1-7)
TEX 9-3 (6-2) (LOST)
Played 4 ranked teams, two dropped out of top 25 at the end of the season. Just not that impressed. Kyle Field will be loud and fun, but the real 12th man will be the refs, not the crowd. If we can overcome that and not give the refs a chance to seize the narrative, we are playing in a NY6 game with Ohio State.
Story of the game will be our:
-- Ground game against their rush defense.
-- Tight End utilization that leads to more respect midfield for our wideouts and backs to operate.
-- Coordinator adjustments--and no slow starts. Get after it for the full 60--chaos/havoc factor.
-- Carson Beck--which one? October Beck or November Beck?
-- Finally, Marioball. Do we get the coach we think he is or does the narrative of Mario not being a gameday coach still persist?
About to separate the chaff from the wheat. The moment is huge for our program. We finally take that leap into perennial contender status. Last chance U for some of these dogs to cement their legacies into college and Miami Hurricanes' lore.

It's a coming-of-age moment for Miami. I just think that both of these team are working in different directions. TAMU is being pulled across the finish line by an SEC logo and a week 2 win--the first point of which is unwarranted. The SEC is not as good as they used to be* and TAMU played mostly the bottom half of their conference. Four of those teams were so trash that they fired their coaches. I just don't see that TAMU resume and think it's all that special. Best win is against ND--I guess--and they turned out to be a bunch of wimps and quitters.15 point win at Kyle Field for their first ever playoff game there would be insane.
Kyle Field alone keeps this game close even if Miami is on their A game and Aggies play sloppy.
A&M defense is overrated, their biggest weakness by far. Offense is potent though.Auburn, with no functioning OL, a mid QB, and killer D almost beat aTm in College Station.
If they had an O that could do anything more than 3-n-out, Auburn wins that game.
I know the record was bad but Auburn was legit outside of quarterback. That team was a QB away from 9-3 and the defense is no joke.Auburn, with no functioning OL, a mid QB, and killer D almost beat aTm in College Station.

Reminds me of Manny’s defense when he was the HC at MiamiTexas Aggie weakness:
South Carolina had gains of 80 and 50 yards.
Texas had gains of 54, 48, 35 and 30.
A&M now ranks 135th (out of 136) in yards allowed per successful play (14.4) and 127th in rushing yards allowed after contact (3.3).
Defensive aggression risks big-play breakdowns, and things didn't trend well in November.
