No, we're not gonna get blown out by NC State. We don't get blown out by anybody, ever. The last time we lost a game by more than 7 was November 4, 2023.

That’s not even close to what that list says. It was in response to porsters saying we’re gonna be down 21-0 in the first quarter. I keep it a buck. I’d trade a blowout loss for some playoff appearances, obviously. But we don’t get blown out. Maybe we will on Saturday, but I’ll take my chances with what I’ve seen all year.

Yea they are pretty awful on that side of the ball. If Mario is willing to not try and grind this **** out we should win by two scores. A grind out will keep them in the game for no **** reason.

I understand what you’re saying but it’s also like saying we are tops in moral victories. I don’t think we get blown out either but adding another close loss to the impressive list of close losses doesn’t make it better for me. :noidea:

GT was one of those teams who was a bit better than their record indicated. This year we obviously know what kind of teams Louisville and SMU are…still, I wouldn’t consider them “bad” per se. To me that would be a Stanford or Syracuse. Regardless, your response made me crack up.

For sure. Last year was fun, but not good enough. This year had great moments, but odds are, it’s not gonna be good enough. Just bringing some perspective. I don’t subscribe to the Ricky Bobby narrative of if you ain’t first you’re last.

I follow the PGA tour intently. Weekly, I’m incredibly invested in a lot of ways. I think a lot about Xander Schauffele. It’s not apples to apples, obviously. But if there was a CIS of PGA Tour golf, the narrative would be Xander sucks. He’s a choke artist. He can’t win. He’ll never win. He’s a mental midget. Which held true for a while…until it didn’t, and he won 2 majors in the same year. The entire time he “sucked” he was continuously putting himself into position to win. Top 5, top 10, almost every time. Then he broke through and became one of the best players of his generation. I think this way for sports in general. Yeah, I’m ****ed. I wanna win. But what we’re doing isn’t THAT far off from where we need to be. Maybe Mario and Miami never get there. Who knows. But I’d much rather be in a position be in the conversation time again rather than just getting dusted like we’ve been for basically 20 years.

Miami’s offense is WAY better than their defense. They’re in the 100s in everything. Our offense isn’t terrible, it’s just average. And when you’re average, sometimes you’re above average, sometimes you’re below average.

Their defense genuinely sucks. Go check out Haynes King’s numbers against them in their last game. And Pitt’s QB the week before that. If we score 27 points or something Saturday and punt multiple times just pack it up and come back in the spring.
 
This game is no cake walk , we will make sure of it , NCST knows this .

I hope our team proves this wrong, I’ve seen nothing that has proven differently in our games mindset .

Look for more play gimmicks from us to stay close game .

Hollywood Smothers averaging **** near 7 yards a carry definitely has me concerned now that he’s back and sat a few weeks.

Notre Dame did keep him in check but he’s got a long run of 45+ in every ACC game other than 1

He’s legit. They’re going to make plays on offense. Their offense is good. Good offenses will make some plays. But we have a very good defense. They’re not scoring 40 on us without insane help (turnovers, special teams, etc)

But the line is 15.5 for a reason. Their defense is a puddle of diarrhea. It is legit worse than USF and we scored 48 against USF. Go score 17 points on our first 3 drives and make them have to press on offense.
