Is Miami Further Ahead In The State Than Ever?

Let's put it this way -- as of the conclusion of the 25-26 season, Sagarin had the following ratings:

UM - 93.02 (5th overall)
UF - 76.94 (37)
FSU - 75.80 (43)

So UM is ~16-17 points better than both.

Obviously doesn't include recruiting momentum, perception, NIL funds, etc. Those also highly favor UM.

Without doing a deep dive, I find it very unlikely one of the Big 3 was ever this far ahead.

If you want to look at 3-year stretches in the same manner I did it in my OP, here are the best 3 year stretches by total wins vs the other 2 since 1980:

1. FSU 2012/2013/2014 was -5 wins compared to Miami/UF in 2012/2013/2014
2. UF 2018/2019/2020 was -6 wins compared to Miami/FSU in 2018/2019/2020
3. Miami 2023/2024/2025 was -7 wins compared to UF/FSU in 2023/2024/2025

There were also 2 other instances of a team being -7 wins....FSU 2013 to 2015, and Florida in 2006 to 2008. As you'd expect, both those teams won natties in those windows.

So Miami is in the midst of the best 2-year run ever, and tied for the 3rd best 3-year run ever. If we win 10+ games again this year, I'm confident it'll be the best 3-year run EVER.
If?

Buddy... 11-1 minimum. 12-0 probable.

I want all the DUBYAS

Last season, yes we were. We aren't that much ahead of UF in recruitng right now. Let them have a average season and see if they are willing to keep spending like they are this off season. I am not sure what you all are hearing or thinking of their recruiting, but they are killing it. They are expected to have a Top 10 class. I am one of the few who evidently broke down their roster because I see a much better team than our fan base is giving them credit for. I already predicted they can win 8 games when lines were at 6.5. Now they have shifted to 7.5 - 9 wins.
In saying this, I am old enough to know they are our real #1 rival until I am in the dirt. Miami played UF for 20 years before their was ever a FSU/UF game.

Right on cue. Any time the gator is mentioned, this guy shows up all starry-eyed and infatuated, ready to tell us how great the gator is...

I peep that in gator tears thread like wtf is this kumbaya ****?! I dont stress it in other threads once or twice but keep that crap out of the tears thread!!

The gap has never been bigger. FSU is just in such a massive hole idk where they go from here. They need to absolutely NAIL their next HC hire to get back to relevance. They just do not have the $$$ to compete in this era of CFB.

Florida has hope with Sumrall on account of a new coach and look. They are spending a ton of $$$ on recruiting right now. Idk how sustainable that is for them. Also, nothing Sumrall has done beyond recruiting has really impressed me. I keep hearing he’s different from Billy (maybe in rhetoric) but many issues remain. Think they’re a 6-7 win team this year. Their spring game was not good. Philo is buns. They lack depth. Sumrall himself has never been a great offensive coach, which has been UFs issue as of late. Lots of red flags imo. Wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t work out there.

Right at this very moment;

We are stomping a mudhole in that *** and walking it dry

We are whipping them like a government mule

We are beating the barbeque sauce out of them

*glass breaks*

BAH GAWD KING BUSINESS IS ABOUT TO PICK UP

The answer is yes, but things can flip in a hurry in this current era. FSU seems lost at sea but Florida gets guys whether we want to admit it or not. We have more momentum and depth, but if we get burned played QB roulette in the portal, things can flip in a hurry.

No doubt Miami is head and shoulders above the sisters to our north at this time.

That being said, regarding the numerical computation of dominance, the fact Miami had 3 additional wins due to a playoff format which was not available prior to 2024 does put the thumb on Miami's side of the scale quite a bit.

The Gators had a sizable advantage over the Canes and Noles in 2006 - 2008, the Noles had theirs in 2012 - 2014, and now is the Canes turn. Let's keep it going.
