Is Manny learning to win and coach? 5 Dubs out of last 6!

They will come up, like they did this year, it happens every year. Haste makes waste. We have have to get this **** right this time and not settle for anything other than what we want and need. If we can't get Mario, Lane or Stoops, I think we we wait and shoot the wad next year. It is better than settling for another ****bag that we hate in 2-3 years. Man, I respect the **** out you LCE, but we cannot just go at this as we need to hire someone new just to hire someone new. We have to figure out who we want and go after them and if they will not come, wait and get the next guy we want. This next hire is going to determine out 10 year plan, no need to rush it.

I don't know, LCE. I know I do not want to settle for 4th,5th or 6rth best again. I just want us to get it right and not settle for what we can get. That's all.
I know you are with me, but I will wait one year to get it right for long term. I am a patient man.
You mean you'll wait one year on top of the other 18 years you've been waiting?

Much rather take a chance on a coach who has a decent resume at this level rather than No D Manny who's defense gets worse every year. Defensive recruiting has been a sh it show and will only get worse as long as he stays
What if Manny can get the best DC in the country to come to Miami for 2M? Then how do things looks?

Ok, big boy, what is your ideal scenario? Let's hear your plan if Mario, Lane and Stoops say no thank you.
How about Kalen DeBoer of Fresno St, Jeff Traylor of UTSA, **** Luke Fickell? Several experienced coaches with great track records beyond the popular names.

Anyone but Manny. Isn't that obvious?

I originally was thinking like you (although several seem to be fairly sure Kiffin would say yes for the right $. ) I agree it might not be perfect, but since EL and others have convinced me of the liability of a lameduck Manny remaining, I'd suggest Chadwell or O'Brien... I haven't stuided as much as others, but I suspect there's other reasonable alternatives to Manny.

I've really got a crap ton of work to do right now, but what can I say? Being a die hard Cane is a mental disorder. To that end...

As I've said ad infinitum, the likelihood of Manny being our HC for next season is bordering on impossible because I cannot see the administration committing to excellence in our football team and proving it by firing the AD (who they said was good at raising money) that hired the latest jabroni who doesn't deserve the job and who had an unsuccessful record, and then not fire the coach responsible for the unsuccessful record that led to the very public firing of said AD. Manny's gone.

But, in a pretend scenario that I really shouldn't paint (procrastination, you are my enemy!) it will truly be bizarro world in nearly every way if Manny returns. HOWEVER, the only way he could turn things around is if the school overpaid for a stud DC (like, Clemson style overpay for a DC) and did the same thing for the O and then he basically became the lispy version of Bobbah Bowden.

You know: kiss babies, cut ribbons on new facilities, arrive at games in limos... and basically let the head coach of the D, be over the D, and the head coach of the O, be over the O, and just stand out of the way. In the pathetic Coastal and ACC, that would probably work. The more Manny puts his branding and DNA on the team, the player's development, the worse things get.

But, even in my pretend scenario (which won't happen because he will soon be fired), his ego wouldn't allow him to stay in his lane. He would insist on micromanaging his coordinators and being the "the smartest guy in the room." Very much reminds me of an attorney I peripherally "work" with who would be a success and happier if he just stayed in his lane, but his ego won't allow him to do it. That's Manny.

But, cheer up chums! He is getting fired or we have all collectively slipped into bizarro world where Frenk et al act against their own interests.

Fvck that. I have more respect for LCE on this board than anyone. I am just not one who settles. I run a business and I do not settle for 4th, 5th or 6th best. I will wait a year and pay the price knowing if I get the right person a year later, it is worth my loses this year. We cannot throw money at any one and think it will solve the problem. Throw the money at the right target and we will be fine.

Son, that is called settling.

Thanks for the opinion! What if Manny gets out of his own way and we bring in 2M OC and DC. Can it work, if Manny lets go of control of the D?

Hey Y'all! Love all your opinions. Just trying to see how things play out if we don't get Mario, Lane or Stoops. Thanks for all your comments and I respect them all. It is a good convo, what if we can't get Mario, Lane or Stoops, do we settle like we always have for scraps. Fvck that. Wait and be patient, it will come.

If your business is failing and you decide **** it for another year you deserve bankruptcy. Your top 3 is not the only 3.

Let me ask this question a different way, what is the worst coach you would take instead of Manuela?

Hey big boy, what do you do if Mario, Lane and Stoops say no? Who is your hire? Let's hear it. Or do wait a year and test the waters in 2022 and see who is available? Do you take Herman and be happy?

Ok I am going to say this one f^cking time for the stupid f^cks on this board who think Manuelita de Pinga deserves another year

Forget the fact that we're losing Lashlee, Likens and Justice, who kept our team afloat and were the SOLE reason we are not currently sitting at 4-8 or worse.

This is Manure's defense, no one can argue that anymore. There is no scapegoat, it is purely his horribly mismanaged scheme. This season, a season that we were expected to win the ACC Coastal, win at minimum nine games, and had a pre-season Top 15 ranking...was completely derailed by his unit.

Duke is basically an FCS team so the numbers look "slightly" better... but we essentially finished in the bottom third in the country in total defense, one of (if not still the worst) tackling teams in the country, one of the worst red zone defenses, may I go on?

There is no reason to keep him. Without Lashlee, we lose to NC St, Pitt, VT, **** probably App St as well. F^ck Manny and anyone who supports him can go play in traffic.
Agree with all of this. I will add the poor special teams play. We can't get a good return to save our lives without a penalty being called. And we can't cover kicks. Having to poach kick it against Duke is embarrassing. Duke and App State ran back kickoffs against us. If you say it was a bad year NcState had one against us last year lol Whose running that unit? One of Diaz's yes men who has no business on staff who also is running a poor LB unit lol.

There is literally nothing Diaz does well as a football coach. He's a hypeman during the off-season but things go south quickly when the ball is kicked off. Do we really need to see A&M and Clemson embarrass him next year on National TV before we make a change?

We will probably see next week, boss.
