Is Manny learning to win and coach? 5 Dubs out of last 6!

Honest question:

1- get our 5th or 6th realistic choice and commit $30M and a 5 year deal to them...

or

2- pass and bring back Manny, JUST LIKE THE NEW USC AD DID BTW... show CFB we're truly committing the resources we're talking about over the next year, and bag an alpha a year from now.

Seriously asking.
Option A and it's not even close. You people are morons.

You need to make a change no matter what. Next year will get extremely toxic if he’s back. Manny has shown absolutely nothing that warrants him another year. Helton at least had 2 ten win seasons to point to.

Committing anything to Manny is a waste of money and time. No respectable DC or OC will work for a lame duck. He tried to get a big name DC already and struck out, hence him taking on the role. You will only end up overpaying for an average coordinator. What else are you gonna do? Renovate the locker rooms?

The only thing you’re showing CFB is Miami is content with the status quo. What alpha are you getting next year if they’re all mostly getting extensions and buyouts raised this year?

I agree with all of that. As far as them "all" get extensions and raises... I disagree Every year there is a new crop of guys that come available. This isn't some magic year.

Would you now please answer my question, though? 1 or 2.

Which “alpha” are we bagging next year?

If we don’t get Mario this year he’s signing a long term $90+million dollar extension, he will not be available next year.
And we definitely ain’t getting Lane next year either...

So, you’d be okay with us keeping Manny for another 6-6/7-5 type season while simultaneously destroying our recruiting for another class again in hopes that we can maybe lure Mark Stoops from Kentucky next year?

Is that the Master plan?

Guys always come available. ****, Mario could sign a $100M deal and reduce his buyout. But if you are saying we are punching above our weight class by even being in it with Mario, and now is the time to strike, I couldn't agree more. And if you are saying next year would be a disaster with Manny I agree. It's also exactly what the USC AD just did fwiw.

But answer my question please. As asked, no twists. Obviously it means Mario and Lane don't want to come. 1 or 2.

Might as well add after beat downs, he caused the firing of two coaches at FSU and (Retirement) Duke. But I think that speaks more about the weak *** ACC.

He made a good hire with OC, bad decision on doing DC. He rode a hot streak by TVD, but this was the year it should have fallen into place, and it didn't.

Manny learned a lot the hard way, he may be a great coach one day. I'm not sure I'm willing to bet the farm on another year with him in a program that doesn't have the horses, culture, or leadership to take us out of this tar pit we're stuck in.

What the fvck you think I just asked? I don't care if it 4th, 5th or 6th choice. I say don't ******* blow the money and time by going half *** again,
Pay the ******* money to get one of the top 3 candidates, if you can't, hold your money and pay next year and keep Manny another. You get 5th or 6th choice, fanbase should be irate over that decision. I would hope!

Tell me the truth... are you Samuel L. Jackson?

I get what your saying and I should have said BOT or AD. AD, when hired, may be in same position. Take 4,5,or 6 or keep Manny one more year.
Tbh man I’m with what your saying..whoever the AD will identify the candidates. If for whatever reason we can’t lure a guy who is proven and decided to restructure manny’s deal and bring him back, preferably on a smaller buyout. I’m with that. The last thing you want is to bring in a guy just to bring in a guy to replace a coach who won 8 games including 5 of his last 6..that would include a bowl win..for me I’m team Mario if a change is made. But there’s other candidates out there who’s name might not be on the “insiders” radar. If the resume checks out I’m with that too

I believe this is a legitimate question by OP (who I also believe is not a troll, but just a bit weary from the many **** moves by UM football over the last 20 years). So I'll share here what I texted a group of friends last weekend re: my thoughts on UM's next HC. Pay particular attention to No. 6...

Where my head is currently at:

1. Kiffin
2. Freeze
3. Cristobal
4. Napier
5. Herman
6. Fold the program.

Two of those now appear out of play. If we can't get one of the other three, fold the **** program because we're probably toast anyway.

1 without question, it’s not even a debate for me.

Any scenario where Manny stays another season equals disaster for Miami.

Mario is not coming here next year, if we want Mario w have to get him this offseason, point, blank, period.

If Manny comes back for another season, not only will we have another barely .500 season, but it will destroy recruiting for the 2023 class & the 24 class, because he’s well known Lame Duck & is an all-around Corch.

There are several dozen better options than settling for Manny & anybody pollying to keep him has just drunk the kool-Aid & has gone full slurper mode.

Manny MUST be fired, no ifs, ands or buts about.

So, do you think UM brings him back this year if we can't get one of our top 3 HC choices? That is the question, or do we settle for #4.5 or 6?
4th -5th or 6th is infinitely better than Manny for no other reason that either of them would be able to bring decent coordinators with them.No decent DC or OC is coming here to play for a lame duck HC.It would be stupid on their part..

You keep asking if we should settle for our 4th, 5th or 6th choice. You should be asking if Manny was a coach at another P5 school and just finished 7-5 with the 92nd ranked defense, would he even be in our top 10? Our 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th etc. choices would all be upgrades over Manny Diaz.

Nobody's knocking down Manny's door trying to pry him from us. He's trash brother, and he's not getting any better.
It depends on what he took over to begin with. This is less about manny and more about the football program. The losing started well before manny. He’s just the latest HC we’ve grown to dislike

No, sir, LCE. I think Manny needs to go, but my question is...if we don't get Mario or Lane or Stoops do we settle for a 4th,5th or 6th choice OVER Manny, knowing he may be here 3-4 years and be overpriced because we are desperate.

Cause we keep going on the cheap bringing in coaches that are doing OJT at Miami ( except Golden who I think might have been alright if he was willing to fire his buttbuddy and Richt who was 1 step into retirement)

If you want to stop the losing hire a HC that knows WTF he’s doing and is respected enough that good coordinators and other staff people will come with him…
You want to continue what has been for 20 years leave Manny in place cause next year Manny will be the DC again and lord knows who will be the OC ( and he’s gotta take 2-3 guesses) because he’s a lame duck coach and no sane coach that values his career is coming here to coach. Its simple like most anything else in life…you get what you pay for.

We been paying for garbage coaches and we’ve been getting and will continue to get garbage results.

Thanks for the reply. I agree with you.
