To be fair, we went from under center a bit more last year and Kaaya had some deep 7-step drops.
"Deep 7-step drops"?
Sheeeeed, the most I saw Kaaya drop, was 5 steps, you gotta have a big arm for 7. ****, I don't think Dorsey dropped more than 5, and He played behind an NFL O-Line. I don't even think the pros fool around with 7 anymore.
Some of those max protect PA looks that ended up as bombs or attempted bombs to Dorsett (or crossing routes to the underneath WR) were 7 step drops. Anyway, I'd have to go back to check.
*Edit: Just clicked on some quick highlights of Dorsett's senior year and saw at least a couple deep drops out of PA. Also, a couple short rolls where Kaaya almost gets killed. I'd look for more, but either way.
Gotcha. Last time I saw a 7 step straight drop, was 2012 with Stephen...He had the arm for it, but it never looked right.
Edit: Also, I remember those PAs, they were mostly 3 level vertical stretches. 2 of em' I remember Him throwing INTs...one intended for Dobard in the Louisville game, and the other one intended for Walford in the NU game...both under-throws, and both of em' moving to His left.
