Is Kaaya athletic enough?

To be fair, we went from under center a bit more last year and Kaaya had some deep 7-step drops.

"Deep 7-step drops"?

Sheeeeed, the most I saw Kaaya drop, was 5 steps, you gotta have a big arm for 7. ****, I don't think Dorsey dropped more than 5, and He played behind an NFL O-Line. I don't even think the pros fool around with 7 anymore.

If we can't find a way for Kaaya to be effective under center we will never have a good offense with him as QB1. He doesn't have the legs for it.

Period point blank. All the other stats are irrelevant. Just watch the film.

Some of those max protect PA looks that ended up as bombs or attempted bombs to Dorsett (or crossing routes to the underneath WR) were 7 step drops. Anyway, I'd have to go back to check.

*Edit: Just clicked on some quick highlights of Dorsett's senior year and saw at least a couple deep drops out of PA. Also, a couple short rolls where Kaaya almost gets killed. I'd look for more, but either way.

Gotcha. Last time I saw a 7 step straight drop, was 2012 with Stephen...He had the arm for it, but it never looked right.

Edit: Also, I remember those PAs, they were mostly 3 level vertical stretches. 2 of em' I remember Him throwing INTs...one intended for Dobard in the Louisville game, and the other one intended for Walford in the NU game...both under-throws, and both of em' moving to His left.

Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, Dan Marino, Phillip Rivers, and a few others are unathletic... They get it done. Kaaya is plenty good enough. He has what it takes. Problem is we have had a magnitude of recruiting misses on the OL, WR, and RB... Not saying he has nothing to work with, but every play he seems to be under a rush. Our OL is not creating many holes for the RBs. And, other than a healthy Coley, we have no one that scares the other team.

It was a couple of those type of plays, actually. Deep drop off PA - just like the example in the UF game with Stephen. When I started searching more, I saw we actually ran out of the Gun more than I remember last year.

As for the moving to his left mention, I f'in hate watching that. That's straight out of Jimbo's playbook.
