Is it coaching staff or players?!?

Dabo Sweeney or Nick Saban way would win a championship with this exact same Miami roster.

Well IF we had them we would I'm sure learn how to open up the pocketbook for better assistants and they would sure as **** win the coastal but any fan who thinks we have a championship roster or even an ACC championship winning roster is beyond delusional.

You are making three faulty assumptions:

1) The talent in our roster is no better than what Dabo and Saban took over

2) That Dabo and Saban have not improved as coaches since starting their current positions

3) That we play in as difficult of a conference as they Alabama and Clemson played at the time

Correct, to borrow from billy beane, “ there is bama, Clemson, the rest of cfb, then 10 feet of ****, then there is the coastal”

Not only would they win two national championships in year one, they'd also show Perry how to make a real porno, they'd have girlfriends twice as hot as Martell's, and they'd make Butch admit he's lost his edge. Oh, and they'd bring back Sebastian's pipe.

Neither Saban nor Dabo are great Xs and Os guys. They out talent people. They wouldn't be great with this roster either. We would be 3-0 right now though with either of them.

Saban had already won a title at LSU and was an NFL head coach as well. The point is there are no instant cures for anything. Coaches win consistently when they hav overwhelming talent. Period.

Neither of them, in one offseason where they didn't get to bring in their own players and establish their culture, would mop up anywhere. The proof is in their acutal records, not some random assumption.

Again we would be hiring Saban and Dabo as they are experienced now.

I claimed that they would mop the floor with the ACC Coastal and recruit a class that could win it all.

Who in the ACC Coastal has the talent we do? The Coastal might be the worst division in CFB. The only decent team on the schedule is UVA, and I still think the end the year unranked.

Duke
Georgia Tech - Lost to FCS school
UNC
PITT
UVA - Only ranked team
VT - Barely beat two FCS schools

As far as recruiting a class that would win it all.
1) It took Dabo 6 years to win it all, so that class was recruiting 2 years into his rookie season
2) Nick Saban won it all his 3rd year

I disagree. Both Saban and Dabo are obsessed with doing things right. They win because they and their staff coach their asses off. You don't see kids at those schools committing errors you see at Miami. Sure they out talent people now, but they won with less talent before they got all the 5 stars.

Our putrid staff's over the last 15 years have lost DOZENS of games to teams with significantly less talent than Miami

I’d say this..no they wouldn’t just mop the floor with the coastal. In sabans case his defensive scheme does not fit what we have on the roster. Especially the front 7 so there would be lots of growing pains there. Next no matter who the coach is, this offensive line would struggle to be consistent. Therefore I’d still expect close games. In Davis case, he hasn’t started winning until he got absolute beast as far as talent. Remember he was still “Clemsoning” that was a thing even when he had rosters on paper that were more talented.

With all that said it takes time for a coach to impose his culture and get his program running. A coach has to learn his personnel and he able to adapt, then deploy it in the best way. That takes time. So with that said, could we win the coastal, yes. But I’d say we can win it with Diaz this year Also. But we **** sure aren’t steam rolling week end and week out

I agree that they are obsessed with doing things right. They do not accept failure and they spend tons of money on building elite staffs. Which makes them great coaches.

However, I don't agree that Saban or Dabo are elite Xs and Os guys. If every team in CFB had equal talent and equal asst coaches I don't see either of them winning the NC.

Being an "X's and O's guy" is way overrated. Saban and Dabo know football as well as anyone. I would love to see Saban talking football with Leach. I think people would see that Saban probably knows more the about air raid offense then Leach.

Sabag is up there on Xs and Os. I seriously doubt Dabo can match him tactically.

It's inexperience. Moreso from the players than the coaching staff. I think/hope that in time we'll get this turned around

GO CANES!!!

You are making a far more serious mistake. You are being a Happy Adjuster.

Happy Adjuster mode is what accounts for the annual absurdity around here during the offseason

I couldn't agree more. That was my entire point. Xs and Os are very overrated in CFB. Even the best Xs and Os guys couldn't have us go out and be NCs with this roster. You need talent in CFB to win NCs and Dabo and Saban are the best around at landing talent.

Saban and dabo not to be good d's and o's coaches are doing what no else is doing winning championships.their teams are fundamentally sound top to bottom.like all great coaches they have good assistants but they also are involved in teaching their players as well in the right way of playing their positions.remember we use to have that back in our glory days.those two teams bama and Clemson don't beat themselves you have to take it to them to beat them.

Are we getting Saban and Dabo as rookie HCs? Manny’s had all of 180 minutes of game clock.
