Has this been verified?

Two weeks in a row he's had a call sheet on him during the game

If he is, they have told nobody. Very interesting to see what happens this offseason. Golden is 99% safe at this point, but I'd bet we see staff changes on defense.

I think it's pretty obvious he is, it's not like coach D just all of a sudden decided to turn into an aggressive balls to the wall hyper in your face style.

that'd be like 92 or 93 nebraska one week going with a 5 wide setup on every offensive play

something happened and personally I think al has full and total control of this defense now

He calls the D when we win and doesn't when we lose.

Kinda like when he gets credit for when we win and the players get blamed when we lose?

Exactly.

And the question about him calling the D is easily answered by anyone who has been to the games. Just focus on him and you'll be able to tell if he's calling the D. Brian Kelly calls the offense for Notre Dame, and it's very obvious he's doing it just by watching his constant involvement in sending the plays in.

He's not calling the plays. He's not a defensive mastermind that's been in hiding this whole time. Go watch his UVA and temple teams, they played the same bend don't break defense we played up until the cincy game. He and Dorito have made adjustments to their passive defense.

Dorito, jethro and Williams should all still be fired at the end of the year and golden with them if we don't win out. This defense could and should be much much better.

This calling plays urban legend has spread like wild fire on these boards based on a random porst from someone.

It's obvious to anyone he doesn't call plays. Now, I will acknowledge that he may want a certain play call on a certain down and distance, but generally speaking he ain't calling plays. I think the bigger issue is that there is obviously a different philosophy going on now. It's less a change in Xs and Os and more of a change in philosophy. Is he responsible in dictating that? Perhaps, and that's what morphed into the him calling plays legend.,

The theory that Folden is calling plays is laughable. Apparently, we are supposed to believe that he let the defense struggle for 3.5 seasons, and he now (after 3.5 years of bottom of the barrel defenses) sees reason to ply his uber coaching skills. GTFOH.

He has benefited from a bullshizza schedule the last three weeks and he appears to have let D'Ildo apply a little more pressure than he has to this point.

Can we get some analysis? As a staff writer, I'd expect more than a "No."

That's like interviewing a coach and him providing one word responses.
How much more of an analysis do you need. He's not play calling. As much as the Golden cultists want it to be true, its not. As mentioned above, it seems as though he's changed his philosophy from passivity to aggression.

Rumor is that a favor was called in by Alfred and Bill Parcells is actually calling the D now via a landline in his den directly piped into Denzel's helmet. They'll never confirm it though. Just ask Jim Burt.
