Is FSU Actually Good?

The jet sweep motions and fluff is FSUs MO. There’s nothing gimmicky about the way UM winning. All that **** cute until you line up and the best DEs in America are on the other side. Until you gotta stop a 230lb RB with a top 5 OL in America for 4 quarters.

This team built the right way. We’re built like 23 Michigan, like 21 UGA. You’re gonna need depth and you’re gonna need 4 quarters of conditioning.

Only way a team that’s not DOMINANT in the trenches beats Miami is by self destruction (10+ penalties, 2+ turnovers) which is why Dawson calling the offense he’s calling.
UF wanted to be cute with motions sweeps as well and it went no where

I could see them testing the middle of our defense while using the motion guys as "decoys" to occupy Bain and Messidor. The middle of our defense needs to be ready IMO.

I would love to see UVA win. I do think they hit on some chunk plays and that things are kept generally respectable. Ultimately, though, I see the Forfeiters pulling away. Could see it as close as 38-23 to something like 41-20.

After much thought, I have determined the correct answer to the original question.

Virginia can run the ball very well. They shorten the game on the ground, limit explosives and Castellanos has a game closer to his ACC norm on the road and the spread starts making a lot of sense.

Coordinator hires were good. Malzahn is the only threat to us so long as we communicate well and spy castellanos. Problem for them is although castellanos is a better rusher than brown or bj gagway he's a far worse passer than brown and just as inconsistent as gagway. Their front 7 ain't even on the same level as ND or ufag. But they do have several explosive players. Long as we ain't complacent and remain focused on our keys we dog walk these ******* too. Them being top 10 from being unranked just by beating a **** bama squad and the girls YMCA twice is wild. But it works for us

Selfishly, I will be rooting for FSU against Virginia. I want FSU to blow them out.

I want their fans to feel that high and rush coming into our game and we punish them. After we punish them, I want them to spiral and loose the next 5 lol
FSU should blow UVA out big time - they have 13 players out at key positions and the line on one sports book moved to -14.5 FSU.

Guys they probably beat UVA tonight, but idk what team people are watching to think they’re elite. I went back to the Bama game and rewatched (only opponent they’ve played with a pulse) and had some takeaways from it.

-Their secondary is TERRIBLE. Bama had guys running wide open the whole game. Even as bad as Ty Simpson was, he still put up 250 with 2 TDs. That’s him missing wide open guys and making bad throws.

-They are paper thin on the DL. Struggled to generate pressure with their four. 2/3 of the sacks they had were because Ty Simpson held onto the ball way too long.

-Their RBs aren’t impressive. Haven’t been much of a factor on O. Also injured there.

-Castellanos really didn’t have to throw the ball. Also, of his 154 yards in the air, 109 (71%) were off of two plays; diving catch and open wheel route.

-They have speed at WR. Their starting three guys are good. Danzy’s typically the fastest guy on the field. A lot of what they do are on reverses and end arounds. Route tree to this point has been short slants, digs, and go routes. They haven’t done anything in the intermediate passing game.

-LBs are good. Not elite but good.

-Their offense runs through Castellanos. At this point their RBs are only factors in the short run game, and their WRs haven’t needed to do anything in the intermediate passing game. This is a scheme that will run into a wall with an equally athletic or better defense.

-OL is better than last year, but Castellanos run ability really masks a lot of issues. About 2-3 times bama should’ve sacked him that he escaped.

-They’re nowhere near as physical as us. Lots of plays where FSU needed their second or third guy to make a tackle.

-If you want to see the play of the game, look below. Any decent QB pulls and runs for a first down. Of course, Ty Simpson is not that. But this was the story of this game. FSU doing enough to win, and bama blowing every opportunity to get back in it. FSU also had some lucky penalties and a good ball placement on a bama 4th down.

All in all, I think they’re in a close one with UVA today, and I think we stomp them in Doak.

yikes, even I could get that one

ask mesidor on the reverse where he chased down the WR while having to stop and then retrace, all for a 2 yard gain.

go to 26:41 and watch his speed to the sideline. one of the more understated but impressive plays of the game.

as long as we stay in our lanes/set the edges/have contain, i don't think we'll have an issues

i´ve watched this play a dozen times. messidor made money on that play, he play in that game and his play all year. i´m so happy for him
