is there any traction to this within our admin/BoT? or are we going with Mario?

Pipe dream. Clearly the BOT clearly hates our fan base. Butch is the fans choice. Does anyone really think they will make a coaching hire simply to appease our fan base?

I would guess it's long shot, but hard to say. Better now that Shalala is gone IMO. You'll start to hear more once we lose a few more games and the rumor mill heats up.

Butch Davis aint hapenning nor do I want it too.

No other school has reached out to him in five years, why would the Canes BOT..There is more baggage than most of us know about...

It's not a reality or a pipe dream. There is not even a a .0000001% chance butch gers interviewed never mind offered.

It depends on if the BOT decides it needs a better football program to stay ins ACC. If there is the hint of pressure for Conference or the whisper of "Temple" south, they will forget everything and bring Butch back. That big check is what they care about. Big 10 and Pac 10 are making comebacks. ACC next tv deal might not be so fat if with noles slipping back and us still off the radar. We need ACC to turn the ***** a little. Imagine the contract with Miami back, fsu a contender and then get ND in for football too. UM v FSU and UM v ND have been the biggest TV ratings the last 50 years. SEC, PAC 10, and BiG whatever have never been more than regional with occasional national reach --- Miami and ND were and can be global. Help us ACC you are our only help.

Schiano...pin those ears back and go. We'll have the best defense in the nation.

I too agree it's a long shot, BUT he would come cheap. Never underestimate the frugality of the university when paying coaches. All his success is well documented, but the two biggest issues that loom large, NCAA , age.

I'm fine with Butch, but Schiano would be just as good or better IMO. Butch is a shortsighted hire. Schiano could be here for a long time. He stayed at Rutgers for over a decade! He would be a home run IMO and would fix our defense immediately. Would also toughen us up and said he is open to new and innovative schemes and techniques in an interview! We would be a perrenial top 15 team, which would be great considering our lack of funding, admin support, and a crappy stadium situation!

And this is true just because you said so?

Can you verify this claim or are you just pulling thoughts out of your ****** and hoping that they sound credible?

Schiano was a .500 coach at Rutgers with one good season.

It's a realistic pipe dream.

The complete and utter incompetence of the Board Of Timidity makes doing the right thing a very long shot.
