is anyone else uncomfortably confident?

Watching the OSU tape a couple things stuck out. It was a draw in the trenches. IU was able to do to Sayin what we were able to. That said OSU ran the ball on them. Multiple unforced errors cost OSU points. Missed kicks and then the botched sneak on 4th and 1. Prior to the 4th and 1 Jackson got tackled on a soft arm tackle from about 15 yards out. Fletcher/Marty runs through that all day.

OSU DL was a draw with Indiana OL. OSU NT won reps off not just power but speed. Moten/Blay/Scott should be able to create havoc up the middle. Bain/Mesi are far better edges than OSU guys.

Honestly I think Pete is right. Barring us playing sloppy I think we win by 2 TDs.

IU’s defense was gassed in the 4th. OSU just choked.

I don’t see how they can go blow for blow with us in the second half. Control the clock like we did last game and don’t turn it over.

This is my fist post in a few years. This is something that i thought I would never see again. I was fully expecting to see a P.I. call on that last play in the Fiesta Bowl. As for confidence for this game, I'm not confident at all. I probably have PTSD from over 20 years of constant disppointment.

Every ex-cane on the sidelines will be reminding our boys that this is our house.
Look at our home field record. Advantage Miami.
this ... forget the crowd, our sidelines are gonna be stacked with hurricane greats and hall of famers cheering these guys on ... the emotion for this game is gonna be elite

All I know for sure is that we need the Miami defense we saw against aTm and Ohio State*.

The defense we saw in the fourth quarter vs Ole Miss with Lucas out, OJ injured and other guys banged up is not gonna cut it.

Roll the defense out there that we saw in the first two playoff games and all will be well.

All of our championships are against teams whose colors are Red and white. Ngl I’m shaking in my space boots but let’s go give them these hands. Center of the ring.

My only concern is that they've had nearly 2 weeks to prepare for us and they're certainly cheating somehow - so they'll be ready to exploit our weaknesses.

If we can survive that punch in the mouth, when it comes (and it'll come early) and respond I think we win.

Football is all about matchups, and we matchup very well with Indiana. Also, how truly battle tested is this Indiana team? Have they been pushed to their limit and do they have the same scars as us? I don’t think it’s even close. To use Scott’s analogy, if we take this Indiana team to the deep end I think they drown.

Their style is a better matchup for us than a team that plays fast. Similar to Ohio, if we can get a lead, it’s tougher for a team like Indiana to get back in the game because their style leads to long, time consuming drives. Despite all the hype Mendoza gets, they are a very run heavy team. He hasn’t had to throw the ball more than 31 times in a game this season. He pads his passing numbers in blowouts while not throwing for over 230 yards in any of their competitive games this year. They DO NOT rely on their quarterback to win them games.

They had three real battles this year Iowa, Penn State and Ohio State. In those games, they didn’t surpass 113 yards rushing or 3.5 yards per carry. Even in their first game against Oregon (which was much more competitive than the bowl) they only had 111 yards rushing.

They want to run the ball 40 times and throw it 20 times. We need to force them throw as much as possible. They are similar to us in that they will continue to run the ball in a close game even if they’re only getting 3 yards at a time. If we can jump out in front and force them to have to throw to get back into the game, we’re getting #6.
