It's always comical in a rumors thread how porsters come out of nowhere saying they heard something too after 1 porster says it first.

Al Quadin Muhammad, who had two sacks in Monday’s scrimmage, is now the first-team defensive end opposite Anthony Chickillo, overtaking Trent Harris

Wow did Donofrio really just say Thurston Armbrister is the most versatile player on defense? Is this guy actually our Defensive Coordinator. Wow....but like really, I can't believe he said that.

Why is that a problem? Most versatile isn't the same as best. He just pointed out that they've been able to put Armbrister in a variety of different positions.

Know what would be great? If every time someone posted that they "heard" something, or that "word on the street is", they had to provide the exact source specifically. Failing that, a lightning bolt would turn them into a piece of extra crispy bacon.

Awwww, rumors... No man, not now.... Don't do this to me now

Regardless of AQMs situation.. We seem to suspend kids harshly for very petty things. Olsen suspend 3 games for pot... Honey badger failed 7+ times before he got the boot. Johnny Fruitball gets like a procession against rice...

Heard AQM was cheating on a test..

Thee only players who deserve their punishment was Blue and fig

Im pretty sure in Olsen's case, it was a build up of things. Hasn't he been in Golden's dog house since last year?

It seems minor compared to other programs but we will always have a microscope on us because we are the U (and because of our administration). The way Golden runs the program allows something like the Blue and Figs incident to roll off our shoulders when, in the past, that would have been media news for a long time. If we win the athletes for whom academic reputation and discipline hold no merit will still come here over the SEC (in certain cases), but Golden is also trying to build the other side of the program, which is pulling in the Stanford type recruits. Keeping the program in line is an important part of that effort. Also, per plantcity's point, I am confident there is always a certain amount of behind the scenes discretion in these cases and we only here about it when it is a series of actual problems.

They should suspend him the SEC way -- which is a quarter or half of a game. LOL

You know there will be more than just Olsen. AQM makes sense. Not high on the depth chart even though he's had a good camp.

We should do the SEC type suspension and hold him out the 2nd game...not the first.

Rather him suspended for 2nd and 3rd than first.

But like earlier poster said, show me the fire. All talk now. Why not come out with it already? Makes no sense to hold off.

Makes some sense because he's likely our best pass rusher and I rather Louisville have to at least think about him - even if it's for a matter of seconds during film.

My hope is if this is real, it's a 1st half thing or something. Same with a couple others.

Unless there is actual substantiation to these rumors, you shouldn't believe them at all.

The word on the street is AQM, but I don't see anything confirmed about that.

Not worried about aqm who is now the first team defensive end. Doubt he would be first team if he had to serve a suspension.

Not saying anything is definitive, but a lot of those players that were suspended for the Maryland game in 2011 were 1st team too. Harris, RayRay, Spence, Benjamin, Forston, etc.

The difference is that the suspensions for Maryland came down at the last minute. This one, if legit, is already known weeks before the opener.

I think it's a little odd, too, that a suspended player would be eating up first team reps. But maybe the exact punishment hasn't been handed down yet.

Maybe the same thing applies to Olsen because no one had made an official statement on his punishment either. Could be in an appeals process for all we know.

If the punishment comes from the university and not the coach, they might not know what it is yet, so they'll keep him practicing until they do know.

This. And hopefully there is some fortuitous timing involved...
