Tears Irish Tears

This right here. You can be right in thinking you got screwed by the committee or complain about the process. All valid. But I've heard the following in the last 24+ hours:
  • AD complaining ACC was going to bat for a full-time member to get in over ND
  • Turning down a bowl game because you're mad; essentially "take our ball and go home because we didn't get our way"
  • Refusal to join a conference and insistent on staying independent and playing by a different set of rules
  • News of a MOU guaranteeing you a spot in the playoffs if you are top 12, thus playing by a different set of rules than every other school
  • ND fans wanting to leave and destroy the ACC and its schools because "they need us more than we need them" (which is debatable)
  • "Boycott all things ESPN/Disney because we didn't get our way"
  • ND fans wanting to sue any media person who, gasp, had an opinion that Miami deserved to be in over ND
  • ND fans wanting to blackmail and/or ruin the lives of committee members
  • "They cost us $20m"
  • "You just picked a fight with the wrong school."
  • "You don't mess with Notre Dame"
  • Dismissing the on-field results because you "look better"
  • Dismissing that the ACC bailed ND out in 2020 and this is the response in return.
The frustration isn't entitlement. THIS is entitlement.
I was at work and wanted to say everything that you did but didn’t have the time.

Entitled? Because we got screwed over by ESPN and SEC collusion? Some of you aren't the smartest cookies, huh? You just see whatever ESPN wants you to see. The smart ones among you agree with me. Yes, ND DESERVED to be in by their on field performance. As did Miami. Ole Miss, OK, and Alabama DID NOT. Not that hard. Call it entitled if you want. Every fan base has their less than intelligent people. We sure do also.

You listed 3 SEC teams yet TrumpyCane only sees your ****** AD attacking the ACC

Why would we want to play crappy BYU? You wouldn't either. The main reason we declined is it is because it is on ESPN, which is in bed with the SEC and took every chance they had to talk crap about us. We are about to be at war with ESPN and the corruption. We will play in no bowl games they are showing other than the playoffs, no gameday allowed in South Bend, everyone unsubscribing to anything ESPN related, not watching the playoff, boycotting anything Disney, etc. We blame the SEC and ESPN 100% not necessarily you.

Maybe you could have approached ESPN and asked them REEEEEALLY NICELY if they would allow NBC to broadcast the bowl game for them...

No, dopey. We don't "see whatever ESPN wants us to see". We just acknowledge the reality that ABC/ESPN bought up almost all of the bowl game inventory, and that we can't dictate every situation to our own benefit.

Look, I get that you (and Notre Dame) are upset, and in certain regards we actually agree with you. ND should have made the CFP over Alabama, and there is certainly an SEC/Alabama lobbying effort (possibly assisted by ESPN) that led to this outcome.

But what can anyone do at this late date? From the time that the pre-season rankings were released (TEN of the SEC teams in the Top 25), we were always on a collision course with "FIVE of the SEC teams in the CFP field".

So don't accuse Miami fans of not being the smartest cookies, when we KNEW this day was coming all along. We didn't know who the victims would be, but we knew there would be carnage. And if you want me to respect ND's current complaints, it would have been nice to see you guys saying something BEFORE NOW.

This **** is math. It's predictable and simple AND IT'S NOT PERSONAL. Some school(s) were always going to be left out to satisfy the never-satiated SEC hunger for more and more and more.

I agree with you on all the undeserving SEC teams. Where we are calling ND entitled is with (a) your expectation that any deus ex machina was going to fix these foreseeable problems, and (b) the post-snub anger and threats and accusations arising from your AD and fanbase.

Miami is not your enemy. ****, the ACC isn't really your enemy either (or not in any way greater than what Miami or Clemson or FSU feel).

You guys deserved to be in. So did we. Definitely not Alabama and the five trash SEC teams. I truly think ND would have won it all this year. It is so corrupt. The SEC was afraid of ND.

Again, not your fault, but I would stay home next year if thinking about coming to South Bend. I don't know if it would be safe for Miami fans after today's corrupt results. Just a heads up after reading the boards.

As a Catholic, I would hope that a Catholic institution would behave better than this.

After all, while I know **** well I said a lot of nasty things about Notre Dame in 1989, I seem to recall that none of your fans who came to Miami died or were seriously injured.

I would also remind you that Indiana is a permitless carry state. Just a heads up after reading your boards, if your fans want to get a little chippy over a post-season snub THAT MIAMI AND ITS FANS DIDN'T CREATE.

And I'll definitely be there November 7th of 2026.

I don't remember crying this hard over the Cleveland Gary "fumble" vs Notre Dame in 1988 ... and then getting screwed out of a rematch in the National Championship game.

The Irish are embarrassing themselves.

Imagine calling somebody else corrupt when your AD cried so hard he got people to give you a pity spot in the CFP if you’re top 12, even though you have to be top 10 to be guaranteed an at large.
Which probably means we're going to 16 teams next year. The committee could alsi make them #13 to make that point moot.

Link to their board. I want to go invite myself. Thanks
