IPF Update

2 or 3 threads about the same article. Lets see if we can get 5 or 6 threads. comon guysm...I believe in you!
 
This just in!

No design plans have been made public!
No groundbreaking date announced!
No land plot designated!
 
Not trying to be a downer...but technique that organizations will use is "we are on the verge of naming a sponsor of x, y, or z" in an attempt to stimulate/prompt other sponsors/donors/VIPs/etc to jump in and say, "wait I minute, Ive reconsidered and will up my partcipation by..."

If other organizations are an example to go by, IF UM was 100% ready to move forward and execute the IPF, it is very likely they would have already announced with far more definitive words than what they have already used.

Not criticizing UM because $28M is a BIG LIFT for this university. No massive alumni base, no T Boone sugar daddy, they very likely cant just write a check because its possible the UA funding stream is already spoken for in other uses and they dont have a legitimate offset to get the IPF rolling full steam ahead.
 
I want to 100% eat my words above, but Ive just seen to many organizations use the same themes and language UM has, and continues to do.

Just a cynic I guess.

My mistake.I briefly scanned the topics and didn't see it listed.I also read the last 2 pages of the IPF thread and didn't see the article listed.I've been really busy the past few days and haven't kept up with this forum as much as I usually do.Didn't mean to start an unnecessary thread on this topic.Carry on.

We're going to get one built. It'll take 1-2 yrs no matter what, so it really doesn't matter if it's announced now or in a few months; especially when they probably wouldn't even be able to begin construction until after the season. In all likelihood they are just waiting until right before the season begins to announce it, that way it gives us a little more attention heading into the season.

Certainly wouldn't dispute your sources...it just makes zero sense to not then announce, "we have reached our goal of 100% funding, and are working the final naming honors at this time..."

UNLESS there is some significant ceremonial date (no first game isnt it) that would make it appropriate to announce that fans (we) aren't tracking? Perhaps the naming donor has asked for any announcements to be delayed until all gift details are finalized?

Absent that, seems like a public relations blunder with the lack of certainy and transparency. For those well versed on these types of things, a lack of transparency just leads to unecessary questions and doubt.

Ok so can somebody help me understand where the IPF is going to be built? I thought I read earlier that it would be built where Greentree currently resides but that doesn't make sense to me unless there will be another outside field built somewhere else? No way they don't have an outside practice field on top of the IPF is there?

I would guess alongside the weight room and the soccer field. Maybe they will build it over the turf extending along the canal. Who knows.
