Interesting tweet regarding Jarren Williams...

Not going to bash Richt anymore, he did the right thing in stepping down and forgoing that money. But maaaaaan if he stayed 1 more year, this team may have been close to its worst state in the last decade (arguable).
Not close would have been. It would have been horrible imagine wasting Perry or Williams away in Richt ****** system. 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

God bless, Richt would've been the end of Miami had he stayed just one more season. So many people would've bolted and we would've brought zero transfers in. And let's not forget Flake would've just stood by and watched as the S.S. Miami captained by a cadaver went straight to an iceberg.

Manny -- no pressure or nothing but your our last hope to save this program.

It would have been the same S&C coach. No changes. Same offensive staff. No changes.
Banda and Patke as co DC. No changes.
No new support staff. No changes.
No changes to the recruiting department.
Zero enthusiasm. Zero energy.
Same old tired captain just staring at the iceberg as he is going full speed ahead.

This is more true than most know and any are willing to admit out loud. If this doesn't work out...

Anyway, right now, the time is now. 11 days till TNM kicks off a new era.

OK, I'm w/ you...I'm not going to bash Richt anymore either, but it was close to being another Golden situation. I'm glad he was humble and modest enough to step down, b/c had he came back....it would've taken a while to get back.

Lolol y’all are cracking me tf up with the I’m not gonna bash Richt BUT lemme bash Richt right quick.

It’s like the tv show Barry where he keeps vowing to be a good person and keeps saying “ starting now” after he ***** up again lol

Everything that needs to be stated about Richt has been stated, repeatedly. It’s a new day, new era. Let’s look forward, not back. The 24th is fast approaching!

Oh and Brevin’s the real MVP.

So much for his high school coach saying he “was never thinking about leaving”

Yep bummer. I was hoping all the things he said about JW were true. Now color me skeptical. Of course at this point he has to say he never was leaving. But all the other accolades I still want to believe.

And I think Richt knew it...it all fell apart pretty quickly, over less than a year. So leaving with the quickness was the right thing to do

You are absolutely right. And there were those saying he should step down, drowned out by the masses who said he never would and we were ****ing into a hurricane and nothing was gonna change, etc, etc...

Right up to the day he retired from football and left $20M on the table so we could go pull Manny off the plane before it took off.

Another interesting twitter factoid: Yesterday the #1 topic on twitter was Miami's QB choice. Guess we're not as irrelevant as some may think. Honestly- if the topic was a QB battle at the University of Texas do you think it would move the needle like this?

Richt had me absolutely defeated as a fan.

At least with Golden I saw hope. Namely, I knew he was going to be fired in a year or two and I only needed to ride it out. But with Richt, we were facing the specter of him being the HC for 4 more years, with a possible extension on top of that.

I can not remember a starting college qb announcement generating that much buzz in a long time

I think it's hilarious that Mark Richt is so hated on this forum. Dude saved us from hiring Greg Schiano, put up $1 mil cash for an IPF, won the Coastal, and left when he realized the game had passed him by. Didn't ask for a dime, put the university in phenomenal position to hire great assistant coaches like Dan Enos. You guys clearly forget where this program was when he took over, and that's your choice. It's just funny.
