I like this one the most bc I prefer McCoy at right tackle than at guard. Doesn’t have the type of push back power I like on the inside but still talented enough to be an all conference caliber tackle imo. Also the potential of Samson and Jackson on the same side of the Oline looks freakish on paper.

Actually it was reported during Fall camp that he was working behind Jalen Rivers as the 2nd team LT. It was said that he was improving very fast and learning quickly and that it was possible for him to overtake Rivers late in the season but that was just conjecture. Samson then got injured after game 3.

Seems like these are the guys who will play. Don’t know where yet its too early, and some will rotate in. Open competition almost everywhere for the first time since 2023? This is great. Probably will be some spots on the line for the next few years happening now in this camp
 
QUESTION: Do we believe Dawson's playcalling changes with this year's OL vs last?

Reason I ask there has been some observation about critical penalties from last year's veteran OL (true). Of course Dawson would still manage to call an interior run on 1/15, 1/20, 2/15, 2/20, etc...

With so much more WR firepower available (allegedly) this year, even with a younger OL, does Dawson let it air out a touch more on those down/distance situations or still more Fletcher to the A-gap regardless?

While not factually untrue, I'm questioning the correlation to said stat (1RM, 225 reps) to being prepared to start as a true freshman in college.

You literally came at me with a quote from a FICTIONAL head coach. This might be one of the dumber takes I’ve ever read on CiS which is really saying something.

Who would you rather have right now? Lowe or Fitzgerald because Fitzgerald was rated almost 100 spots lower than Congdon and over 200 lower than Lowe. Toney wasn't ranked. Okunlola was 20th, Bain 50 spots behind him...

Cantwell's ceiling is crazy high, guy's a freak. You just can't be surprised some Ohio All-State wrestler the same size ( both 6-8, 330) isn't better prepared than a Missouri thrower. And both were blue chip players in or around the top-150

I never saw videos of Congdon pushing 500 lbs off his chest or doing 225 for reps that would be near the top of the combine.

The combine 225 leaders are on the BC Lions, in the UFL, practice squad, waived multiple times etc over the last 6y, minus one starter.

My original comment was about my initial expectation based upon what Congdon weighed and was ranked at the time he committed…you know 60 lbs ago? He also took a massive leap in the rankings from the time he committed (same time of my original expectation) to the time they were finalized, which also aligns with my original comments. Clearly you’re too dumb to comprehend that.

Your first sentence began with “While not factually untrue.” As in, what I wrote was correct. Everything you wrote (which I didn’t finish because I recognized it as rage bait and straw man arguments) is drivel in an attempt to pull the discussion in another direction so you can be right. Who would I rather have, Fitzgerald or Lowe? Nice try.

Furthermore, camp isn’t done yet and positions aren’t set.

My comments were actually praise. I don’t understand why you took it like you did. Somehow you interpreted them as a slam. Are you his agent? His girlfriend? His mom? Maybe Ben ends up being the #1 overall draft pick in three years and turns out to be better than Cantwell. Maybe he doesn’t. I’m not rooting for one over the other. I’m rooting for both. Just like I rooted for Cici and Samson…in no particular order.

No. 4: Jackson Cantwell, Miami, offensive tackle​

His father, Christian Cantwell, is a five-time world champion and won a silver medal in the shot put at the 2008 Olympic Games. His mother, Teri (Steer) Cantwell, was a two-time NCAA shot put champion at SMU and also competed in the Olympics. Jackson, not shockingly, was one of the most gifted shot putters and discus throwers in the world at his age. In 2024, he set the national high school record for sophomores throwing the shot put (almost 75 feet).


The younger Cantwell’s power and explosiveness are mind-blowing. At 15, he bench pressed 405 pounds for four reps, vertical jumped 31 inches and broad jumped 8-10 — at 6-8, 300 pounds. At 16, he bench pressed 505 pounds and did a close-grip bench with 475.

As a five-star recruit last year, Cantwell became the first O-lineman to win Gatorade National Player of the Year honors. The 6-8, 330-pounder’s expected to be the Canes’ starting left tackle this fall. The power numbers that he has produced since arriving at UM have shown just what a Freak athlete he is. His Peak Power output is 9,461 watts. For context: Francis Mauigoa (No. 16 last year and the 10th pick in the 2026 NFL draft) measured out at 9,273 watts last year as a junior. Mauigoa’s 9,273 was by far the most on the Miami team in 2025, almost 1,000 watts more than the next player. Cantwell’s max velocity is 17.3 mph, which is close to Mauigoa’s 17.6 in his final season at UM.
