Miami is 9-3 when Florida State comes into Miami ranked in the top 10.

Do with that what you like, I'm not here trying to blow smoke or throw shade. Just a stat.

I actually think it's somewhat telling. This team gets up for the opportunity to knock off a top 10 rival. Doesn't mean it's gunna happen but good stat. I doubt most other teams don't have that good a record against a top 10 rival.

Butch lost 26-14 to #8 FSU (finished #3, lost in the MNC game) in 1998, with real sanctions and yet finished the season ranked 20th with a bowl win. Golden lost to #10 FSU (finished #10) 33-20 in 2012. How'd we finish out that year?

This past Saturday, I watched about five minutes of the garbage they call College Gameday. I happened to see an interesting stat. Penn State was 35-1-1, all-time, against Maryland. With this new information in mind, and knowing essentially nothing else about either program, I promptly texted my good friend who happens to have graduated from Penn State. I told him Penn State was going to lose to Maryland. He said no way. I said watch. I didn't watch the game because I have better things to do than watch terrible football (unless it's the Canes), but based on his texts, I'm pretty sure Maryland beat Penn State that day.

If you made it this far in my post, you're probably asking yourself, what is the meaning to all of this? To that I can only say, I'm not quite sure. Take from it what you will.
 
It's an "interesting" stat, but those 9 wins came in...

1988 when we were ranked #6
1990 when we were ranked #9
1992 when we were ranked #2
1994 when we were ranked #13
2000 when we were ranked #7
2002 when we were ranked #1
2004 (OB Game) we were ranked #10
2004 when we were ranked #5

1980 was the only time we were unranked

We won those games because we were **** good.

For the record, I wasn't even attempting to rag on Butch, it was simply a fact check, hence the question mark at the end, but seeing as we've gone down this road, Butch lost TWICE to Top 10 FSU teams in the Orange Bowl. Teams that were ranked in the top 10 of BOTH polls. He lost in 1996 and then he lost in 1998.

Coker was in fact the other coach, as he also lost to a Top 10 FSU team IN BOTH POLLS...at home in 2006.

Don't give me that humble ****...you already did your stupid sack dance (in the first quarter) for a stupid victory that you weren't even close to attaining.

And now you're already beginning to lace up your MJ shoes to start moon walking.

Not sure where Pete got this stat from but I'm pretty sure this stat is inaccurate. I think it's more like 12-8.

Butch alone lost to FSU 5 times when they came in ranked in the top 10 from 1995-99.
