Interesting stat on offense v. defense

40th in total O. 61st in total D.

44 in scoring O. 42 in scoring D.

54 in red zone conversions. 104 in red zone conversions allowed.

114th in third down conversions. 28th in third down conversions allowed.

The offense and defense are mirror images of the same ****.

Anyone remotely implying that Coley, or OHNO for that matter, is the main issue with this team and the only impediment to excellence deserves a swift kick to the groin.

Its 1-1 if you ask me. The offense cost us the Cincy game. And the defense cost us the FSU game.

But because Dno and Goldens defense have been so horrible for 5 years now..(historically horrible), the nod goes to Dno. And its not even close.

Like i stated before the love affair with a guy in coley who has cost us and undefeated season is disgusting...

7,9,7 the amount of points we have given up in the last 3 2nd halfs the defense has done everything to keep us in the game the offense has completely failed us

But its coley so no big deal i dont get it

If we're cherry picking, we can find enough meltdowns for everybody.

Al sux. The scheme sux. The plays sux. We are not undefeated b/c we have consistent failures in every phase of the game.

We're debating whether a philosophy of known failure is better than lack of ability... all these guys are over their heads.

Bingo

Our offense has never been ranked 2nd to last in the FBS like the defense has

Our defensive philosophy is bend don't break. Yards don't matter. But of course we know they do. If the other team holds the ball all game how does our offense ever get in a rhythm? They're on the sidelines the whole **** game. Then when we finally get the ball....One bad series= 10 more minutes on the bench. This defensive philosophy must have turnovers to be effective at all. If the other team has no turnovers we lose period. Florida 5 we barely won. VT 4 we barely won. Those are the 2 that stick out but there's more examples of this. You can't count on turnovers to win!

Our offense has been a problem I will admit. This run out of shotgun on the goal line is bllsht. But the defense is on a whole different level of ridiculous ineptitude.

Yards-per-play is a simple, effective measure of performance. Since Coach Golden got here, each of the national champions has finished top 20 in both yards-per-play on offense and yards-per-play allowed on defense.

Our average ranking in offensive yards-per-play since 2011 (including this year) has been 18th. Our average ranking in defensive yards-per-play over that same time period has been 75th.

This year, we are currently ranked 22nd on offense and 110th on defense.

Great stat.
Pretty much tells us what we already know. And it's worse when you consider that we are in a somewhat defensive minded conference and not in the big 12, pac 10, or AAC.
The offensive stat is surprising, given that we don't have a running game. Even when the sacks are taken out, we are averaging less than 4ypc. over our last 4 games.

These stats jump off the page even more when you consider who we have played. I don't see many Big 12 teams on our schedule.

UM is paying Golden 2.5+ million per year for that.

Crown UM admin and the BoT.
