Interesting stat on offense v. defense

DMoney do you think Golden would ever fire any of his Temple buddies to save his job if that's the ultimatum the AD and co gave him at the end of this year?

It's Golden's defense just as much as it's D'Onofrio's.

Coach D should not be the scapegoat for their performance.

Exactly. It's actually Al Groh's defense which is a complete joke, I mean Groh got canned at Georgia Tech FFS.

Gotta cut the head off the snake.

not enough disruption from the interior linemen on running plays, we rarely have TFL on run plays, out best plays are 2-3 yard gains

DMoney - how does our T/O margin compare with '01-'03 teams?

We have the best T/O margin in the country right now. What's scary about that stat is the fact that teams are still putting up big yardage on us every game (444 YPG), but our play makers are bailing out the defensive play calling quite often. So it begs the question, how many yards/points would VT have had if not for the 3 INTs and 1 fumble?

That is only because have Kaaya at qb and he does not turn the ball over

D$,

What are the stats of yards per play for the WEfense? That's what Canes play.

I appreciate the point of this post.

But it sounds to me like a way to excuse James Coley.

Tell me, how many national title teams were 114th in 3rd down conversions?

How many were 44th in scoring offense?

54th in Red Zone conversions?

40th in total offense?

103rd in rushing offense??

You can cherry pick the one stat that makes the offense look competent.....I just listed a half dozen that make it look like it is: bad.

Here's a fun cherry picked stat:

No team since 2008 has won the national championship with a rushing offense lower than 20, except 2013 FSU who was 28th. Miami sits at 103rd.

Coley sucks. He is complete ****. No doubt. But D$'s sample size covered both Coley and Jedd Fisch's offense so I take it at face value...a measurable disparity between what has shown to be an ineffective offense and a complete Albortion of a defense.

More fun cherry picked stats:

Only 1 team since 2008 has had a 3rd down conversion percentage lower than top 20 in the country (2009 Bama). Four of those championship teams had 3rd down conversion rates in the top 10, and three of them in the top 5.

Miami sits at 114th. But let's continue to excuse Coley.

MIAMI IS 3rd IN THE NATION IN TACKLES FOR LOSS ALLOWED

But let's chose the one cherry picked stat to make Corley look competent.....

Is it fair to say that the offense has cost us and undefeated season so far? Due to the ineptness of the staff to make any adjustments

Like i stated before the love affair with a guy in coley who has cost us and undefeated season is disgusting...

7,9,7 the amount of points we have given up in the last 3 2nd halfs the defense has done everything to keep us in the game the offense has completely failed us

But its coley so no big deal i dont get it
