Interesting regarding Diaz

Im not arguing any of those facts. Diaz is obviously a Miami guy but at heart money can NEVER be discounted. You could buy a mansion with acreage and a. ondo in miami for the price a single family home in miami in a good neighborhood.

Have you seen Diaz's house? That costs a **** of a lot more than someone on his DC alone could afford.

Diaz has a lot to show this year as I still have a lot of questions about how decent he actually is.

The biggest thing I felt that we lacked was size and depth at corner. That left gaping holes in our defense and if we couldn't get to the QB, mediocre QB's were able to tear us up.

Size, we've got it now, albeit young. Hopefully they can shore up the defense quickly or its going to be a long year with a lot of the same issues we had last year.
Playing zone practically the whole first half vs. Clemson was dumb!!!

Give me a break. LOL

How 'bout the Wisconsin QB or their true Freshman WR and TE with 5.4 speed?

Are you really gonna sit here and act like we didn't allow offenses to nickel and dime us to death?

Na, I'll concede that 100, but that is is due to a zone blitz scheme, Shaq not being about to run with tight ends/backs all too well, and prolly some other stuff.

But the fruits were sacks and picks. Golden's defense dropped 9 into coverage on most 3rd downs and we still got owned. I'll take Diaz and his scheme. Macho, I know you know Diaz is a BAMF.

I don’t care if it’s 5.2 adjusted .... it’s still Starkville, or G-ville, or Auburn ... or where ever. Outside of Athens and maybe Nashville these SEC towns are NOT for someone who is happy in Miami AND has the money to really enjoy Miami.
It’s about more than just money.
If you make large money, even a crap hole is nice. Rich is rich.

I love Manny, and hope he stays and takes the HC spot when Richt retires.

That being said, I have a feeling in my bones he gets a HC offer at the end of this year. I agree, he won't bail for a DC job, but the HC he takes in a heartbeat!

3rd string unc qb moved the ball early on quite well too, pitt true freshman qb was running through the defense too

Nathan Elliott was 16/39 173yds 1TD & 3INT's with a 41% cmp for UNC & that was after the Defense knocked out 3 other QB's. But of course that's never enough.

And the Pitt QB was 18/29 for 193yds & 1TD, but it was the Defense's responsibility for us to put more than 14 points, despite getting 2 turnovers & giving the Offense a short field on both possessions.

Keep pushing that narrative fellas.

Yeah the defense needs no improvements I guess?..... we let that unc drive the ball inside our goal line multiple of times in that game EARLY ON like i said. Pitt q.v. was running through tacklers which was also true, I know what I saw

Everybody knows the Defense needs improvements, but they pale in comparison to the Offense.

The Defense did it's job in both games, vs UNC they forced 4 turnovers, knocked out 3 fckin QB's & held them under 300yds passing but they still get criticized. WTF else do they need to do in those scenarios?

Even Bama's great Defense got lit up by Miss St & Auburn last year, Oh St's Defense loaded with perennial 1st rounders every year got torched by Iowa & Oklahoma. Even the best Defenses in college football get carved up, but they have Offenses that actually can run the ball or complete some passes & put up some **** points to support them.

Our fans love to jump on the Defense like they're supposed to force 15 turnovers, 25sacks, hold Offenses to -100yds & score multiple TD's a game in order for us to win. Then when it comes to the Offense they have the lowest expectations possible & every excuse on earth is made why they can't do what they're supposed to do.

It's hilarious because yall are gonna be doing the same sh*t this season, any game we lose this year will be blamed on the Defense, doesn't matter how bad the Offense plays or how many TO's the Defenses creates lol

what's the counter for a zone blitz scheme? Short passes?

Think of all the lame ducks that were thrown or forced out by opposing qb's last year. Michael jackson was almost made a draft pick because of this. Trajan bandy? Yeah, he murdered Notre dames QB for a pick six because of the pressure by the -- you guessed it -- zone. blitz.

Let the short passes and QB sneaks ensue.

Up 14-3 in Wisconsin game, who let them run down the field and score? The defense

-down 0-14 vs Virginia getting beat bad. Offense ties it up... the defense goes down again by 14 more points making it 28-14... offense wins the game putting up points in addition to Jaquan johnson td on D

- offense went up a td over FSU... the defense proceeds to allow 2 4th quarter tds too... offense then rectified those lapses

Don’t act like the offense didn’t bail the defense out in games too now...

Both sides need improvements and I’ve said that repeatedly, no one is just blaming one side like you are doing with the offense

Miss St's defense ranking last year was kind've deceiving.

They played 4 cupcakes in the OOC, then the SEC West was pretty bad offensively. They played 4 legit offenses:

Auburn: Put up 49
Georgia: Put up 31
Ole Miss: Put up 31
Bama: Put up 31

There's a reason Louisville didn't care if Grantham left the year before

Right. He basically got fired from UL.

There was absolutely zero pressure on that Bandy pick-6. It was a one-step drop and we didn't blitz a single soul.

We allowed the QB from Wisconsin to go 23/34 for 258 yards and 4 TD's. Let that sink in.

THE QB OF WISCONSIN! A running team!
He nickel & dimed us to death.
And their True Freshman WR caught 8 balls for 105 yards.
A running team beat us THROWING THE BALL. Right down the teeth of our defense.

And I suppose having the 75th RANKED 3rd DOWN DEFENSE IN THE COUNTRY has nothing to do with our inability to defend the intermediate/middle of the field either.

C'mon fellas. Are we really debating this issue?
Didn't the Clemson QB start the game 16/16 passing? LOL
I think we allowed 2 or 3 different QB's to start the 1st quarter perfect against us.

We allow opposing QB's to complete 57% of their passes. That's good enough for 54th in the country. That's awful for a program that should never struggle to defend the pass. For comparison, the last time we had a decent defense was in 2010. That unit only allowed a completion percentage of 49%. 3RD IN THE NATION! They were also 3rd in the nation in YPG and 5th in the nation in opponent's passer rating.
They had Brandon Harris, Ryan Hill, Demarcus Van Dyke, Ray Ray Armstrong, Brandon McGee, Kacy Rodger and Vaughn fvckin' Telemaque. LOL
Only a couple of these guys even had a cup of coffee in the league.
You mean to tell me that unit is better than the kids we have now?

Point on Macho. Numbers don’t lie! I’m still in Manny’s corner BUT he gotta bring some elite results this season. What happened to the “play with speed and violence” talk and the “South Florida way”? His schemes are a far cry from D-No-D’s, but I’ve been excepting more dominance than what we’ve had the past 2 seasons.
