Interesting RE: schedule

This is misguided. The days of blowing teams out on a regular basis are gone in college football (except Bama). All around the country, week after week, teams you think traditionally should be blowing opponents out are in tight games. We haven’t been blowing out UVA, Pitt, NC State, and UNC for 15 years. That’s not an accident. The difference between teams ranked 8-40 these days is negligible, in the sense that a team in the 30-40 range beating a team in the 8-15 range is perfectly normal. Whether we want to accept reality or not, UVA, Pitt, NC St, UNC, are solid programs with good coaching and athletic department structure that put players into the league. We will never be “destroying” these teams on a regular basis, and there’s nothing wrong with that.
I will agree w this. People have to accept this. We can habe our blowouts but it’ll be more closer gsmes than not.

Has more to do with the parity in college football this year than those teams being good. Pitt isn’t a great football team. UVA is garbage. NC State is barely above average. UNC is trash. App St is a good G5 team. MSU is good but hasn’t played anybody that good. They barely beat middling B10 teams.

They beat a previously unbeaten Michigan team yesterday

Easy for some teams to look good when they play in the ACC.

Sorry, but we should be destroying App State, UVA, Pitt, NC State and UNC every year.

That's the problem right there. We've all watch the same games and seen the sloppy play, unforced errors, mind numbing penalties, and overall lack of preparedness and felt "if we were only adequately coached, we'd be handling these teams ... easily". The only game we were man handled was Bama.

And I'm only talking about adequately coaching, not the second coming of JJ.

No doubt schedule is tougher than most anticipated.

Bama 7-1
Michigan state 8-0
App State 6-2
UVA 6-3
Pittsburgh 6-2
N. C. State 6-2
UNC 4-4

Agree.

To add to that, conference games can be tough even when a team isn't that good. Conference foes know your tendencies and are typically prepared for what they'll see. It's a chess game at that point.

Miami fans are very sad that we may win those games.
Miami is going to win all the games left. It’s going to help recruiting and the portal and hopefully a new coach with a clue will want to come here and win the conference next season. It’s that simple.

As long as they can this guy and the AD this is a set up for good things. But we all know, we can’t have good things.

Adequate coaching would have us beating those teams more often than we do. That’s not what I’m saying. It was said that we should be destroying those teams regularly. That will not happen regardless of who our coach is.

Let’s start with Blake this afternoon and move forward from there with wins on the field and a new AD heading toward the end of the season!
