Interesting note on oline trends

@Peter Ariz client. Projected Day 2 pick.

This is his film against Auburn, number 58 RT. Really fun film, guy looks quick and athletic and especially strong for his size.

Dan Enos and Butch Barry had a hand in developing Eric Fisher at Central Michigan and he is a premier Left Tackle in the NFL for the chiefs. He weighed less than 240 coming out of high school. Technique, drive and athleticism can be even more important than size and frame

A buddy of mine lives on the hill behind Lafayette stadium. We can hear everything during the games.

They've been trying to expand the college, there's just nowhere to go there.

A key point is that most OL need time to mature. That is why you HAVE to add more to the pipeline every year. You can't count on freshmen to play meaningfully and you might not know what you've got until a guy is a junior.

Depth, and MORE DEPTH is critical, even with good coaching.

The game has evolved, because teams are running more uptempo pace & space attacks OL's have to be in better shape & need to have the ability to be athletic & move getting up the 2nd level of the Defense.

You don't really need a whole line full 350lbs monsters, you need guys with good arm length, good footwork & good cardio because offenses are now running 70+ plays a game. Not saying have traditional road grater types aren't still the standard, but the style of play has changed which has changed the requirement from personnel.

Same thing is happening with QB & WR, it used to be you had to have a 6'4-6'5 QB who stood firm in the pocket behind a gigantic OL for 6-8secs in a 5/7 step drop & he would throw to these tall 6'4 WR's. Now, it's 5'11 QB's throwing to 5'10 speedster slot guys moving around inside & outside the pocket getting rid the ball in 4secs or less.

Pretty sure those weights just made up horse****. The media info for senior bowl says the official weigh in day is 1/22...5 days away.

I mean, the dude on Wisconsin with the scrabble last name is definitely over 240 pounds.

Notes does look legit though, so maybe not.

Read the tweet again. Those are their High School heights/weights, man.

I am somewhat skeptical of reported HS height/weight, though.
