Got a good friend thats pretty involved with the fsu athletics. Caught up with him this morning and he mentioned something i never thought of in addition to the 60 million buyout.

"Could not have picked a worse time to initiate a $300M stadium upgrade. We are really fck'd brother"

I understand that they're having an all-time bad year, but realistically, it wont be that bad next year.

They'll hit the portal and get some more guys.

If they had got ANY QB other than DJU, they wouldn't be in this situation.

They'll bounce back. The NIL era allows next-year rebounds.

You're assuming the current roster doesn't get destroyed by guys leaving the program.

FSU's only hope is to wildly overpay for a QB that's a known winner and get him to immediately sign once the season ends. Retain as much as you can on defense and then go overpay for skill talent and pray nobody gets hurt. Maybe that can get them to 6 or 7 wins and try to right the ship to some degree.

Yeah and I think they will. They're invested in the program and aren't going to fire Norvell.

Plenty of GUARANTEED starting spots available along with NIL cash.

I think they're back to 6-6 next year.

With what funds?

This is amazing news. I love to read it.

I disagree. I said all offseason that their WR room was cheeks and would be their downfall. They also have weak RB depth. They need to bring in 3 solid WRs and 2 RBs. That OL also needs to be rebuilt. I don’t see any above average, let alone, elite QB go there unless they overpay and completely turnover their roster.

Also, this was a 10 mil roster for them.

Their issue is more long term and systemic, Norvell can't recruit HS kids. They will be hit or miss and portal dependent as long as that is the case. There will continue to be a lot of variance with their results.

Bounce back from the historically bad team they are now, sure. But they will still be a 4-6 win team if that.
