Inner City WR

People always assume because a kid is from the hood that means he's stupid...

It's called the bigotry of low expectations.

Fitting that the ultimate example of that got voted into the Hall yesterday. Still remember the all the **** Edge went through for refusing to change who he was when he got to the league:

Yeah...you don't need a black man to roll into the city to pull black kids from the inner city.

Those kids are often very straight forward in what they want and are looking for...parents, too...and I'm not talking about BAGS, although for the very top kids, sure...usually wins the day. But everyone else...pretty straight forward.

For this current staff, as constructed...like, Cooney, Lockette, Field, Hickson...seems like enough here.
All people are motivated by self-interest. It’s natural and normal. Kids everywhere respond to what they believe their self-interest is. Opportunity to get an education, to play good football, to develop, and prepare for a career. Also to enjoy their environment, trust their coaches, and see a path to getting lots of hot hoes. Sure, all else equal, have a nice car, some spending money, maybe a home for your mom. And play locally so family can see you, for many kids. Folks have failed to accept that UM has been seen as a sub-optimal opportunity for most top kids for a long time. Kids are pretty predictable. The path to relevance requires us to offer top kids a choice it makes sense for them to say yes to.

OP has to be white and living in a gated community.

Who says “inner city” any more? I think the last time that phrase was used witches were being burned

I’m confused as to why people think he’s gonna be the only one in contact with the kids. We now have legit analysts who will be in constant contact with top targets and be attached at the hip to them when they’re on campus.

Now I have legit concerns about this hire recruiting wise, but to say he will miss on targets bc he can’t relate is ridiculous and short sighted.

If "inner city" kids care so much about playing for people they can relate to, why the **** do so many of them end up at Alabama, LSU, etc?

"Hey....I'm an inner city WR and I wanna play for someone who's just like me...... so let me sign up to go play in some country *** redneck town where the only things to do is tip cows and hit up klan rallies."

Dumb.

We need coaches that can develop talent. I don't care where the **** they come from, I'm just happy if they can coach. We haven't had that in a while.
