People always assume because a kid is from the hood that means he's stupid...It’s unbelievably insulting to the kids and families making the decisions.

It's called the bigotry of low expectations.
All people are motivated by self-interest. It’s natural and normal. Kids everywhere respond to what they believe their self-interest is. Opportunity to get an education, to play good football, to develop, and prepare for a career. Also to enjoy their environment, trust their coaches, and see a path to getting lots of hot hoes. Sure, all else equal, have a nice car, some spending money, maybe a home for your mom. And play locally so family can see you, for many kids. Folks have failed to accept that UM has been seen as a sub-optimal opportunity for most top kids for a long time. Kids are pretty predictable. The path to relevance requires us to offer top kids a choice it makes sense for them to say yes to.Yeah...you don't need a black man to roll into the city to pull black kids from the inner city.
Those kids are often very straight forward in what they want and are looking for...parents, too...and I'm not talking about BAGS, although for the very top kids, sure...usually wins the day. But everyone else...pretty straight forward.
For this current staff, as constructed...like, Cooney, Lockette, Field, Hickson...seems like enough here.
You’re being polite. It’s just bigotry.People always assume because a kid is from the hood that means he's stupid...
