On Pate's last show ("Commissioner's Poll"), Cole mentioned a play in which a Miami LBer defeated a block by an OT, then slipped an OG, then made the tackle on the ball carrier.

really odd play design... lets not block Bain at all and give him a free release right at our QB who I assume has the option to keep it around the edge or shovel it inside. Great discipline by Bain to stay home and force the shovel and yeah Chase blew that up, knocked the T off his base and on his ***, stonewalled the guard coming to pull and made the tackle lol

Seems like a good kid, just bit with the injury bug. Lot of guys would have transferred by now, but he keeps working hard and getting better. Coaches love guys like that.

This is the guy that some posters felt warranted a B- for how he played against USF. I’m not arguing that he was perfect, but his level of effort was awesome, and needed. We will need chase Smith all season. He is a play maker. Go back and watch his fumble recovery. He out maneuvered 2 guys out of the way, inlcuding Mesidor, to make that play.

He was my highest rated LB that game for sure. His effort breaking up the RB fake pass, also the back or WR he chased in the flats and stopped after 4 yard gain come to mind. He is looking better than Toure to me. I think that Toure looks better on the Edge tbh.
