Miami has secured its fifth transfer portal commitment of the cycle, and it fills a major need.
After the departures of Tre Donaldson and Noam Dovrat left the Hurricanes, only Dante Allen was the true guard left on the roster, that issue is now being addressed with the additions of Acaden Lewis and Indiana transfer Nick Dorn.
Dorn, a 6-foot-7 guard out of Charlotte, NC, took an official visit to Coral Gables earlier this month, and it didn’t take long for him to move forward with a commitment.
Dorn originally committed to Elon out of high school, where he had two big seasons, including averaging 15 points as a sophomore before transferring to Indiana. At Indiana, he played in a bench role but was seen midyear as one of the better shooters in the country.
He averaged 8.1 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 0.3 assists per game in 2025-26, shooting 40/38/87. Prior to Indiana, he spent the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons at Elon, averaging 9.4 points and 3.1 rebounds as a freshman, and 15.2 points and 3.8 rebounds as a sophomore.
He also had a near 20-point performance against the defending national champions, Michigan.
Coming out of high school, Dorn was unranked and held just three offers: Elon, App State, and North Carolina A&T.
