Indiana cheating ?

For both sides of this it should be said that they have great players who would make plays with or without any cheating. So i don’t think people should look at every play they make as evidence of them cheating.

For example Michigan was caught cheating 100% but they also had elite talent, cheating doesn’t guarantee winning it gives you an extra advantage in a game of inches.

Also another thing that raises my eyebrows is, yes cignetti is a incredibly great coach he has tons of experience but taking Indiana from literally one of the worst college football programs to elite in a year? Then to a natty the 2nd year?

Like no matter how great you are there is going to be some skepticism when you do that. So much about this team just goes against the history of college football but hey maybe this is a new era and we will see similar turnarounds with nil and the portal
I get the skepticism, but NIL and the portal completely changed the math. This isn’t a slow rebuild era anymore. You can flip a roster in one offseason if you recruit and evaluate well. Unusual doesn’t automatically mean shady.

You guys know first drives are usually scripted. The first 15 plays or so are practiced to death to make sure you get the first score. If a team knows your first 10-15 plays you are ****ed. You are down three scores before you knows what hits you and it’s game over. Having a team’s opening script is a huge advantage. Not saying they are doing it just saying .

I somewhat agree but bro this is past unusual, this is just an insane turnaround. Maybe he mapped it out to time up getting a p5 job with his jmu portal guys who are obviously very good and already coached up by him for a year or two and strategically added talent on top of that to fill holes

Either way im a firm believer that the games still have to be played, i usually ignore the sports conspiracy theories because one thing can change so much but this one is interesting

Look, I’m not saying they ARE cheating but **** it certainly looks like they’re doing something. And the truth is, why not? Michigan cheated their way to a national championship. Their only punishment was their coach missed the first few games against cupcakes. No stripped title, no scholarship reductions. I mean if you can blatantly cheat and there’s zero real penalty, why wouldn’t you?

Right now, there's zero proof.

IF Indiana was cheating, this is something that would have been set up with off-Bloomington servers with GA's who have Absolute Deniability. You would use cutouts who are not connected in any way to the actual Athletic Department. You don't get people from inside Indiana's Program to do this.

That's where Michigan f**ked up. Cignetti and his people are not as stupid as Harbaugh.

Since there's no fire, but there's smoke, AND since Indiana went out and grabbed one of our backup TE's for absolutely no reason at all, the best course for Cristobal, Dawson, Heatherman and the staff is to change signals and go complete analog. Put nothing on the cloud and have the University's computer science people look for hacking in the meantime.

Assume the worst. Plan for the Best. Go Canes.

Big accusation with zero proof. If this were real, VEO/ Pixellot and the NCAA would already be involved. Sounds more like coping than facts.
First sentence, agreed.

Second? There are glaciers that move faster than the NCAA. It was over two years between when Michigan began cheating and when it was publicly released by ESPN.

No champion has had a blue chip ratio lower than 52%, they’re at what 10%?

You’re telling me Cignetti is the greatest coach of all time? In two years, no build up just straight to the top lmao

Cmon

I’ll save Schott the trouble tho, we running all **** game.
The only issue re BCR is it doesn't include transfers. Would that put them to 50%? No. But 6 blue chip transfers in with six non-BCs out would tick them up the box.

He won at UIP, Elon a little, JMU a lot... he's been hacking Catapult for a decade?

You have to think about this team more like a George Mason Final Four run. Every year there's some surprise veteran team in the Final Four or Elite Eight. NC State, Loyola, Miami... those teams are typically loaded with 4th and 5th year players.

IU's starting 22 has three Soph's and a RS freshman. Everyone else is a Jr+
Miami's starting 22 is Toney and OJ with a chit ton of Jr+ players.

Thats exactly it.

I've been thinking that Indiana was pulling some Moneyball **** and figure out a novel way to cheat the system. If you had access to the data, this is exactly how I would do it.
Moneyball was not cheating the system.

Agreed. But usually when something this much of an outlier happens it includes at least a component of unfair practice.

For example, the Houston Astros would have been really great without the cheating. They had great players. But the cheating helped put them over the edge.

I don't doubt Cignetti is a fantastic coach. But I also would not be surprised given Michigan that there is some foul play or shady "gamesmanship" that allows a team with no elite recruits and zero NFL talent outside of the QB to, in a span of 2 seasons, become an undefeated national champion.
The highlighted is false. Do a quick search on 2025 NFL draft projections you’ll see a number of Indiana players projected as second third and fourth round picks.

The blowouts of Alabama and Oregon because Alabama isn’t very good and Oregon shot themselves in the foot so many times they had to amputate the leg at the knee. The pick six on the opening play was simply a bad pass by the quarterback and a great play by the defensive back.

A lot of Indiana’s regular season blowouts were against bottom feeder Big 10 opponents like UCLA, Rutgers, Purdue, Maryland, and the like. They needed a late drive to beat Penn State, struggled to beat Iowa, and the Big 10 championship game came down to late missed field goal by Ohio State or the game probably goes into overtime. That and Curt Cignetti is a better coach than Ryan Day.

For all of those that are saying THERE IS ZERO PROOF.

There was ZERO PROOF Michigan was cheating until their was.
And TCU didn’t wait for proof before they changed things up in the playoffs. As soon as Sonny Dykes got wind that something might be up with Michigan cheating he made necessary changes.

If you were gonna throw a game or shave points, would you do it with bad plays so early in the game?
It doesn't seem to matter how you do when some people will always disregard it.

It’s funny because a professional soccer player in Europe, convicted for cheating and betting, now helps authorities catch people. He states how easy it was to cheat because no one questions obvious cheating. No one questions an easy shot missed or letting a man go uncovered.

It goes on a lot more than people realize but there is always someone who says, “Nah…they wouldn't cheat so openly.” As if there is some covert way of cheating that cameras don't see.

You make a good point.

Seems to me every bad play or questionable referee call is thought to be a conspiracy to script the game or throw a game or rig a game.
