In the midst of all this

Watch the reply.

Listen you can disagree all you want with me, but I’m not gonna let folks just recreate history in order to fit some cute idea that the two teams are alike.

After you watch the reply, watch the last three games of the year that season. Spoiler alert - they stunk.

I pride myself on keeping it real on here and really all walks of life. I try to look at **** objectively and genuinely try to not be a blind homer. But this post is way outta pocket. Hate to derail a really good thread but that was a TD 100 times out of 100, and even if you disagree, this is NOT the pic to post as evidence 😂.

As a matter of fact, this pic only solidifies the fact that there was no clear evidence to change the call. If they’d have called him down, they’d have stuck with it. They called it a TD, and stuck with it. How in the world can you tell where the ball is from that pic? Spoiler alert: you can’t.

I know you been seeing my posts since the beginning of the year, brother.

WHY.
NOT.

:neonu: S?
This is my post from February 4th

I don’t know much, but I knew this

Good post OP. Agree on all points. Marve to Kayne :(

And others- Langham broke the plain with the ball when his knee was down. (TD!) And Walton's knee wasn't down either before Corn Elder scored.

I truly hope everyone can really appreciate what we are seeing here strictly on a W-L basis. When I was 14, I watched us drum Nebraska and I fell in love. Since then I have felt nothing but pain, false hope, acceptance of mediocrity, rooting for “hard workers” and “true canes”.

Gone are the days of Gavin Harden crying on the sideline on crutches because we are getting our **** pushed in by fsu at home. Gone are the days of celebrating Jalen grimble and Latwan Anderson. Getting a Stacy coley knowing we don’t ******* deserve him, and he’s wasting his career here, but being so grateful for that while he puts the team on his back to single handedly beat Pitt. Gone are the days of Robert Marve throwing it 2 inches 2 high to kayne farquhson, while UNC celebrates on the baseball diamond.

I want you all to know that beyond this, as much as I hope for some consistency and another legendary run, we could NEVER see another heisman player here. Or even see 11+ wins. Cam Ward is the chosen one, that has come here to do what’s right. Enjoy it. Relish in it. Love it.

Everyone is saying this feels like 2017.

Malik rosier was our qb. No disrespect to Malik. He’s no heisman front runner breaking every record in the book. This is different.

This is the U.
I could almost hear the inspiring music striking up in the background as I read this, until you said Cam Ward is the chosen one.

He's very, very good and the reason we're undefeated this year, but Cristobal is clearly building something to last.

I’ve been trying to preach this for 10 weeks now.

Maybe we win a natty. Maybe we play for one. Odds are we don’t. But whatever happens, enjoy watching these kids play. Ok, fine. Enjoy watching the offense play. It’s the best one in the history of the school. Trust me, I need to practice what I preach. I’m very scarred from the last 20 years. My wife just started watching games with me again this year because she made me promise I wouldn’t be such a ****y negative *****.

We wait all year for football season, and we get 36 guaranteed hours of it. Think about that. You WORK 40 hours a week. You get to watch this team we love only a guaranteed 36 hours a YEAR. When they’re this fun, enjoy the **** out of it. Live and die with every play like a fan should, but have some perspective. We’re watching history, and we’re fun. That has NOT happened very often here.

So however this ends, just enjoy it as much as you can. And let’s ride this **** till the wheels fall off.

Motivating me to take the ride to Cuse, and book some flights for the post season.

2017 was a luck based year. Our turnover margin and getting teams behind schedule (TFL, sacks...traditional Manny defense), hit very high and we got lucky with a lack of injuries. You can't replicate that. I said it as much at the time. Cool year. Brax is a legend for that year and Malik Rosier and Darrell Langham forever get a pass as only ok players for being there and making plays during a fun year...an oasis in a desert of losing for 20 years.

Cool year.

They Not Like :neonu: s, though.

We'd beat that team so bad, it'd file charges on us.
Helped that we had two NFL backs and an NFL TE.

Knee was not down. Find the other angle the ball had broken the plane of the goalline as his knee touched. Touchdown!

The two teams are nothing alike. Nothing. Regardless of record or outcome, this years team is way better. That’s not to say that your feelings about the defense aren’t true - they are. This defense stinks. What I’m saying is that 2017 was smoke and mirrors and most of us knew that was the case as it was happening. The FSU win when Langham’s knee was down. Lots of odd bounces that all seemed to go our way - til they didn’t. This years team marks the beginning of a new era for Miami, built on strength in the trenches and relevance nationally for a sustained period of time. No one felt that in 2017. The star factor on this years team is light years ahead of 2017 as well.

You completely missed my point. But keep picking at that photo cuz it makes you feel better.

Point: 2017 was a mirage and 2024 is not.

Miss me on the outta pocket commentary.

YO!!! my dude, you're going up from the city correct? I'm debating flying or train, flights were relatively inexpensive but just shot up, but man 5-6 hour commute sucks. Haven't pulled any triggers as of yet but between all estimated costs it's turning out to be a pricey endeavor. Are you staying overnight? Train?

people forget we lost our 3 best players on offense in 2017 toward the end of the year.
WR Ahmmon Richards
TE Christopher Herndon IV
RB Mark Walton
Yeah the thing about our injury luck that season is kind of bull****, we had an already limited offense and then Malik lost all the explosive guys.

That point is correct. 2017 was a mirage. 2024 is not.

Your other point about Langham’s knee being down is ******* retarded.

1/2 ain’t bad tho.
That wasn't my point and you know that. I mentioned the FSU game as being one of many components showing that 2017 was a mirage. I get it, it's FSU and we all hate them. You weren't the first one to grab that one factoid to try to shoot down what I was saying over an interpretation call. If it makes you feel better to make that 1/2 comment, good for you. I don't really care because I know that my real point still stands. I respect you as a person enough to shrug this off because, as you earlier stated, you generally keep an open mind and make decent posts.

This sort of feels like I'm in an argument with my wife about something and she decides to bring up some tangentially related point from 11 years ago to show me that she's right. If you're married, you know exactly what I mean. And no, this is not some veiled shot at you or anything like that. Simply a comparison of what I feel as I read some of the push back.
