Actually an old fad but maybe on new medium. As a kid I remember my Aunts fighting about crap that happened in the 1920's. These were full blood first gen Brooklyn Italian women so when I say fight I mean old school fists, shoes - on and off feet, thrown knives and plates plus the occasion spit in the face. Every wedding or funeral the same thing. First thing we cousins did was grab all the food and head outside. I always got the lasagna to safety first. You could not control it; you just had to let if burn itself out.

It must have been good for their health. Most of them lived into their 90's. My mom came up just short of 100. The oldest lasted to 109 I think. I have a theory why Italian women live so long. They all seem to pray the Rosary every day(at least that generation). The Blessed Mother promised that if you prayed her Rosary ever day, she would get you into Heaven even if St Peter would not let you it -- something about lifting you over the wall by the Rosary. Well, I figure it is true and Christ would have to do what His Mom told him to do like the good ****** son he was, The only logical thing I could think of was God had to let them in BUT they were so dang mean that he kepted them alive as long as possible. Needles to say, anytime I tell that to a bunch of Italian women, get my *** kicked.
