Obviously eff the source (Yahoo Dan not the prestigious Grand Canyon U) but it's still impressive- especially in respect to Bama and Oklahoma trailing us when people seem to think they're blueblood type programs.

I get that Miami wasn't competing for titles until the 80's and that there were some pretty dark years in the 70's but it's not like Miami wasn't putting guys in the league all the way back in the 60's. Maybe they weren't a national powerhouse but there were some pretty good players back in the old days.

Also, I got my doctorate from Grand Canyon U. Go Antelopes! (yes, I had to google that)

Ted Hendricks used to eat a QB pre-game as an appetizer for the main course.

He was an absolute terror when he was here.

Jim Otto says hello.

And there was a number of 1st round picks in the 70s: Dennis Harrah, Ottis Anderson, Eddie Edwards, Chuck Foreman, Burgess Owens...

Exactly. Wetzel's historical knowledge prowess is about on par with his investigative journalism abilities. That said, his assessment that we're the most impressive school in that list still stands despite it being made in ignorance.
