I'm Starting to Think Miami Should be FAVORED...whaddya Think of That??

Miami would be favored over Ole Miss, Alabama, Texas Tech and maybe even to 1 point either way against Oregon imo

1. Dawson has to be 2023 vs A&M.
2. Beck has to be on time. Passes behind receivers, late over the middle, not accurate at all on the deep shots will be disastrous.
3. Pringle has to play. Gotta trust him in this game.
4. Three receivers with more than 50 yards receiving.
5. No stupid penalties like unsportsmanlike, intentional grounding.

To score 24, we have to play our best game on offense, imo.

Yes. Please don't use Toney as the primary on every down. Lets spread the ball around if we can.
We will be fired up so I expect some jubilation. But we have to temper that and save it for the last whistle.
 
Who’s the best offense Ohio State has played though? We should score the most out of anyone on their schedule but that might not be considered much because the most they gave up in a single game was 16 points to Illinois.

Both teams have great defenses and questionable offense. I wonder if we try getting creative on offense or we follow the TEMU strategy and try to muscle our way in a defensive struggle. Probably the 2nd one.
 
I took 10.5 on Sunday. I thought fair was more like 7/7.5.

OSU should be rusty. We get both the benefit of having played a big time, pressure packed game, plus we get extra time to get healthy. I think half our team was concussed during that last game.

Can our secondary hold up? OJ apparently had a breakdown on the long completion to carver (?). He had just missed time from injury so maybe got confused? Don’t think they ever showed the replay and what he did wrong.

We know the DL will get home with 4. Secondary doesn’t have to hold up forever. Just give us a few seconds.

I’m not sure how much to put into Day calling plays. He has to be rusty, right? You ever do something in your professional career that you haven’t done in a while? Yeah, you know how to do it, but you kinda need a minute to get your groove back. It certainly doesn’t hurt that hartline is gone imo.

Watched this breakdown of the game from their fans point of view. They gave us the edge on the D-Line, OLine, run game, but gave themselves edge on the LBs, DBs, QB, and Secondary. But they’re acting like the ones that they have an edge on are 100x better than ours and our edges are “By an inch” 😂. Our secondary is better than theirs I believe. They have better WR weapons but I expect our DB’s to match up well against them. They focused on games where we didn’t press anyone (first half of the season) and it really nullified our pass rush IMO. But it’s been way different since we started getting into dudes faces (pause). We are going to get pressure on Sayin by showing him a lot of pre-snap looks and run something different

Yes but the real key is to win in the other areas of the game. Field position (flipping the field on punts, good starting field position, Toney/Marion 1-2 explosive returns), net punt average, penalties, time of possession, turnover margin (need defense to force a turnover or two). Explosive plays (20+ yards) we need more than them. Win the majority of those areas and we will win the game 95% of the time
 
Tbh we’re probably going to need to be able to steal a possession from Ohio State at some point. That’s the thing that concerns me. Kirby, Freeman, DeBoer all have the balls to pull some **** out of their asses for their team. Even Elko tried. I’m thinking fake punt, fake field goal…etc. Haven’t seen Mario with the balls to pull that off yet I think that’s the next step for him to go from great coach, to elite

You can’t stay the Ohio State defensive team stats and numbers are a fluke and they haven’t played anybody and on the same coin argue that they have the same schedule we do..insinuates the same arguments against us.

They’re a good team and they went undefeated regular season in dominant fashion that we could not do with the same “quality” of opponents.

To me there are massive question marks in our offense vs their defense and to me it starts and ends with which coordinator won the matchup, Dawson or Patricia. Canes glasses off it is a Tough one to call and we will have to play a perfect game.

I’d love to see JJ smith get knocked out violently off the bat like Barrow on Vanover. That would set the right tone from the start. No love for anyone on that field but Canes.

I think Ohio State is better against the run. Bigger in the middle.
 
I love our chances in this game, but we were not going to be favored. I think we win it actually, but you have to understand the outside perspective on this.
 
Dawson needs to get back to whats been working the best, leave the trick plays alone…don’t let them key on Toney so much…get Pringle/Marty involved in the swing/screen game and let CJ does what he does on some shots down field..neither of these defenses will be overpowered..to me it will come to which OC calls the best game
