I'm old enough to remember

Great, we beat who we "hate," and, as Mario emphasized, "Florida State Champions" (not a peep from Frost or UCF, they can't beat anyone from Kansas!) which has recruiting/transfer currency. We have to temper this "Irrational Exuberance" with the FACT the only unbeaten team where victory was obtained is G5 USF. The playoff committee will look to deny UM for B1G and SEC teams since the new system was rigged for them. A lot of work to do.

Sorry, I would be boring, I usually sleep on airplanes; picked it up in the military because you hit the ground running when you land.

Yeah and on the other hand every team in college football has either lost a bad game or struggled to beat a mediocre team so far. My point is, what the **** is the point of watching this team if you can’t take a day or two (as a fan, by the wa…none of us is gonna be in the Hecht today breaking down film) during a bye week to just enjoy that we’re 5-0??

I don't care if you agree with my argument but I'd love to know who our 4 loses might be.
I don't know about 4 but maybe 3 with SMU, Lousiville, and Pitt. I think Pitt could be the hardest away game because most likely it will be cold and they have a good team. Anything can happen with MARIO at the helm. Also, Beck needs to remain healthy.

Strawman much? Where did I say I didn't enjoy last night's win in the end? The 4th Qtr about killed me because I am a passionate fan. I'm not breaking down film either and I hope the coaches don't have to today...But you know they will, as its fresh in their minds.

OSUck unfortunately has not really struggled and Oregon did have a battle in now Unhappy Valley, but also look at Ole Miss from the committee-favored SEC and Texas Tech, who scares the crap out of me...Miami can't lose to Louisville by not focusing and VT (yes, possible) and Pitt are on the road at the end of the season.

Feel as good as you want to, you don't need any external validation from me in the least, but it's not November yet...

Any games ((excepting Stanford) on the schedule could be a loss. I recall last year and '17 where the pundit's would say "...And Miami is favored over all the teams left on their schedule." How did that work out? Only eight wins is probably not the ceiling for this team, but if they lose two, it could doom the playoff if no ACCG. SMU is in Dallas, Pitt and Syracuse have done this team in before regarding the playoffs. Sorry, after 46 years of fandom, I have seen to much (BYU loss, Vinnie Picks, Washington ending the home winning streak, Terry Porter flag, etc.) to be smug until the HC is riding on the players shoulders.
Yea sure theoretically we could lose every remaining game by 80. And who's being smug? I'm saying if you've been following this team long enough it's bizarre if you can't enjoy what's happening right now and I pity your abject misery. It seems like you're saying it's only a successful season if you win it all. I have friends like that. Most every year is going to be frustration and disappointment I guess. Seems like a weird way to be a fan but you do you.

Grassy board treated the 2001/2002 teams a lot worse than what is going on now. Winning is never enough. We have to pulverize very single team into the ground much like the '83 Nebraska team.
Nah even they had a few close games before us. The only team in recent history that literally blew everyone out was '95 Nebraska. If that's the benchmark you're gonna be disappointed every year and you should stick to your EA dynasty on freshman mode.

It would have been on Grassy. Only Canes site then and a large number of posters here, were there, at that time and Trav is correct.
Hey hey hey!! Pump the breaks man! AOL had a Hurricane Message board back then as well. Lots of out of control smack talk took place back then on those AOL message boards. There weren’t even any moderators. It was a no rules anything goes format and it was wild!

It wasn’t organized like Grassy was but it was a spot for a lot of Canes fans to communicate with each other on a message board back then. But Grassy was the holy grail of Hurricanes message boards back in the day.

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen some screen names on here over the years that I recognize from the old AOL dial up board days.

I’m happy these dudes are 5-0. I’m probably one of the few people who was saying before the year we can beat all these teams. But let’s not act like it’s not frustrating to be up 28-3 and start with the ball pass the 50 like 3 times and don’t score

The boards in 2001 after the BC and VT games. If was pretty much like this. There will always be mopes. They are evergreen.

Bottom line: We're 5-0, top 5, state champs, beat an ND team that won't lose again unless they make the playoffs, a UF team who beat Texas, and an FSU team that beat Bama. A bunch of you complainers were the 8-4 prediction guys. If you can't enjoy this, I am truly sorry for you. You are truly miserable.
Same people that were saying it will be a close game are the same ones complaining about a game that was close.

What’s even more ironic is that the game was only close because we let off the gas and had over 100 yards of penalties. Add another td that was called back for bs that had no effect on the play.

This game was only close in the brains of seamenhole moral victories.

I should have been more specific.

Only organized, privately owned, site with significant volume?

I’m sure there were some other Canes sites with small message board traffic. You just didn’t hear about them until 2003 +-. Then they were referred to as TOS or TOOS. 🤣

It’s the same 4 or 5 guys…..Every ******* week. They can’t help themselves.

Abject misery? Strange way to try and have me give you the empathy you seemingly crave regarding your opinion.

When @Cribby starts pointing out flaws and trends, that’s when I start getting concerned. Thrilled to be 5-0 this morning but hopefully MC does some looking in the mirror after the 4th quarter last night.
Absolutely reason for us to improve our killer instinct / follow through and clock chewing approach.

Last year the trend / flaw was the defense. This year its letting opponents back in it up a few scores.

How does the opposition prepare for that? Do they have their team take a moderate whooping to lull us into mario mode?

Okay, just for argument, ND is a two loss team, UF is a three loss team, and FSU is a two loss team. I do not care who they have beaten, as I learned long ago (started as a 'Cane Fan in '79) football is not transitive, i.e. being or relating to a relation with the property that if the relation holds between a first element and a second and between the second element and a third, it holds between the first and third elements. USF was ranked, but is a G5 and BCU is FCS. All the wins except tonight have been at home...And yes, the team could still go 8-4.
The teams we beat are gonna be doing a lot of winning.
ND probably won’t lose again
Fspoo will probably be 7-5
Ufag will probably end up 7-5 or 6-6
USF will most likely represent the g5 in the playoffs.

This is the best resume in the nation

I remember those games well. I also remember seeing it as a bad sign. Same thing with some of the games in 2002. It was clear Larry Coker couldn't get the most out of the talent Butch left him, or what he was bringing in. That wasn't being a mope, but rather noticing a disturbing trend.

Mario needs to get some things worked out still. That being said, he is light years ahead of Larry Coker when it comes to recruiting and development.

Found one.

Nah man , I’m just messing around. It’s all good. The message board game sure has come a long way since the dial up internet days. Grassy laid the groundwork to reach the masses. CIS has just taken things to the next level.

I remember when the unthinkable happened back when Grassy started imploding and word leaked about a pilgrimage of sorts of people heading over to a new start up message board named Canesinsight.

When I first heard of the name CIS , I found it to be an odd name for a Hurricane message board but I figured I’d check it out anyway and give it a chance because the price was right and I needed my daily Canes fix and I was going to search hi and low on the net until I found a place I could call home. Thankfully, CIS has been just that and then some for me since 2011.

I never would have thought this place would become the modern day hub for all things Canes like it has. For a life long Cane Fan like myself, who attended his first Canes game in Th OB at the age of 5 way back in 1972.

I’m forever grateful that these young bucks took the lead and had the courage to start this site and help ensure that the Miami Hurricane legacy remains alive and well.

It a Canes Thing …. IYKYK…

This site is the best Canes site on the planet and it’s not even close!!
