I want to see the numbers and a statistical probability how a team could be one of the most penalized in conference yet OOC the penalties are minimal. Make it make sense.

Looks like ACC officiating just sucks compared to some of these other conferences that just let them play.

Raw numbers don’t tell the whole story and the calls that don’t end up on the stat sheet are the worst of all. Look no further than the safety issues against FSu and Clemson that year or what about the overturned sack fumble against SMU that likley would have ended the game in the second quarter? There’s too many non documentable calls(plays that are pivotal that can cost us games or are made just to let opposing teams hang around hoping they can make a play before we can put the game away.

Completely agree. Even in the LVille game I think we had the first 6 penalties of the game as well as 2 non calls (1 one was PI on Mali on the first pick) and the phantom fair catch. IIRC they gave LVille some make up meaningless calls later in the game to balance things out. Maybe someone with more tech experience than me can breakdown how many penalties occurred at 0-0 or Miami being up or down by 1 score, how many extend or end drives, etc. and as you said even that wouldn’t tell the whole story with the amount of non calls.

And I’d say, except for the Ole Miss game which was terribly officiated, I think we got a pretty fair shake in all of the OOC games. Outside of Stanford and Syracuse I don’t remember a conf game in a long time where there wasn’t at least one sketchy call.

Not to mention somehow the mighty ACC kept Bain and Mesi from creating sacks all year but once we lined up against 4 of the top O lines in the country they were unblockable. Did our line level up or did they just get to play in a game officiated fairly.

#1 reason I want out of the ACC is the officiating. Never get a fair shake whether it’s incompetency or intentional (or a bit of both). In a game of inches incompetence and/or legitimate bias from the officials can cost you multiple games.

He's a lot better than what Chase Smith has shown in his career, so either Chase gotta be 110% healthy/someone else gotta steal that spot or that's another place on the defense where we're downgrading.

I’m still a bit confused on the strip sack fumble v SMU. Forgot all about that happening after being so that we lost to those ****suckers. What was the call again? Yeah that game was on the verge of being in the bag.

That non targeting call v OLE MISS was straight BS. No way would have gotten that love. Guess they didnt want us in scoring range so early. We were definitely getting points out of that drive if we got that targeting yardage.

That’s the biggest question mark for me this season. And you didn’t even list Bain and Mesidor. But yeah, how we replace Keionte Scott, Jakobe, Bain, CiCi, Coop, etc will be fun to see. Those dudes just played with a different mentality.

This will be a different team- and we’ll be strong at nearly every position— but we also have depth in the secondary- our d line will get after it we will see who excels… but our secondary will be a massive strength this season- besides the obvious guys last year- jj dunnigan, thorton- no drop off

Rewatch the VT game. We were the ACCs last hope by that game and the officiating in that contest left a lot to be desired.

Pitt I think they finally just gave up although early in that one they called some funky stuff but eventually we got some breaks from the zebras in that one.

We'll see I've been waiting for them to just stop with the BS but Louisville and SMU were both textbook ACC shenanigans IMO. VT was going the same direction for a while.

The ACC's preferred outcome is always Miami smokes a non con slate then finishes 10-2 and third in the conference standing narrowly missing the title game, hopefully providing a bit of legitimacy to the teams in the title game. If Miami is able to backdoor in as the 2nd or 3rd ACC school that's a bonus.

I mean the SMU game was arguably one of the poorest officiated games I’ve ever watched and I know a lot of people say that, but I can’t think of more complete dog **** calls in a single game before this one, and each dog **** call came at a time where if said dog **** call doesn’t happen, game is over and we win. There was at least 3-4 of those types of calls that just kept SMU in the game. I was praying to God and every higher power we’d play those clowns again in the ACCCG and blow the brakes off them and I certainly believe we would have if given the chance.

I will agree with this with the exception of the SMU game. Remember that blatant DPI they picked up that would have ended the game? Yes there was holding called on us so it should have been, at the very worst, offsetting penalties, replay the down.

But these mf’ers picked up the blatant DPI call everyone and their mother saw with a flag thrown immediately during the play, and left the questionable holding call on us stand. That, my friend, is the type of **** that has myself and even respectable coaches and names in the game talking about potential corruption with CFB officiating because what in the actual **** was that all about?

And there were a handful of other blown calls in the SMU game that were just as bad..
