By nearly every tangible metric the Canes should be at worst a top 25 team, but here we sit at 6-4, unranked, and out of ACC contention. I'm no Golden supporter but that's not all on coaching. Football is a game of big plays, timely plays, and capitalizing on opportunity. It's up to the players to step up and seize those opportunities. They just haven't been able to do it.

The team is much better now than they were at the beginning of the year.

The schedule being front loaded with road games combined with freshmen qb hurt.

Oh and Fsu has won 25 in a row and have a heisman winning qb.

That's how you get to 6-4
 
All that said, beat GT like you were supposed to and this season is a success. That GT loss is the inexcusable, unbelievable, most disastrous thing that happened this year

This has plagued Folden his entire career. HE CANT BEAT GOOD TEAMS! Oh wait! He did beat Duke!

I'm supposed to list every mistake this talented yet poorly coached team made that lead to their disappointing record?

Yep, Miami is the only football team that suffers from miscues. Everybody knows that college players have to play perfect games or else it's impossible to win the coastal.
 
Heard some guy on qam yesterday pose an interesting hypothetical:

If you flipped our schedule around, Pitt first game UL last, what's our record right now?

Interesting because of how different this team is from the one that played UL. We prob still drop the FSU game in wk 3, but we would prob be steaming ahead to a rematch in the ACCCG.
 
Actually, those stats make it sound like everyone BUT Golden is getting his job done.

I wouldn't say we're a mediocre team. We're definitely an underachieving team tough.
 
Lol it sounds very familiar actually. The year Randy got fired we wee #1 and #2 in offense a defense in the ACC...7-6

We do not coach aggression and taking moments, we coach process and everything will fall in place. Sounds like my mom always believing something divine will make stuff happen. No you make stuff happen, you take it. We dont have that mentality
