Highlights If Only You Didn't Suck, We Would Be Better

So most of the same roster that hammered Duke last year in Durham isn't good enough to beat them at home this year or even keep the game close?

I don't get it. He was asked a question and answered honestly. Should he have lied with some generic coach speak when the proof is on the field? Not to say Mario isn't somewhat responsible for this year's mess by hiring a terrible OC who wants to power run without a power running OL or backs but this article is the least my worries under Mario. He needs to change his offensive philosophy or we will have plenty more seasons like this year.

If this makes you "ugh", you should probably find a new hobby for your weekends. Because when I tell you there is a 0.0% chance that Mario is gone before 2027 or so, at the ABSOLUTE earliest, it is literally 0.0%. He's the head coach here for multiple seasons, period. If you don't like it, but love the program, I would suggest finding something else to do with your time. Whining about it will do nothing but continue to erode the fan base, cause us to eat our own, promote a toxic environment, etc. etc. AKA, nothing productive. He is the coach here for 5 years, literally unless he dies. So, accept it and support it, or don't. But don't be part of the problem, assuming you actually love the program.

Is it the same Duke team as last year? They're 5-3 as I type but were 3-9 last year. New coaching staff. A handful of portal additions and an improved outlook.

Im not saying this justifies the fecal matter we saw from the Orange and Green last Saturday but it does address the overly simplistic post quoted.

we do know - believe me, we have watched this suckfest - but as a coach, why say it out loud and then have the players not giving a sh** cause you told them they suck? Just tell them to get lost on November 27th.

That’s it right there! Ken Dorsey, Clinton Portis, and Andre Johnson not walking through that door. You got who you got. Coach them boys up and win some games. I got spread passing type players and a defense that blitzes a lot let’s do that our first year until we can get guys in. Win some games and then build on that. But naw let’s have a power running game and defense that has reads our dbs can’t make and we get fried every week. You can’t be mad at the players for not changing their mentality but don’t change yours to win games. That’s called stubborn

Fair point. But it’s also fair to point out that their less heralded first year coaching staff beat our first year coaching staff, with the same talent differential that allowed us to dominate them last year when you account for portal additions on both sides.
 
Duke with first year head coach and a worse roster beat marios brains in.


I want mario to succeed but this is Al golden level used car salesman bull****.

If our staff remains the same in the off-season i will know all i need to know.

My heart and my best intentions tell me that's true, but the facts and evidence tell me it is not.

Why say it out loud? idk...lots of coaches do it...sometimes its a motivational ploy (I posted in another thread...Nick Saban does it a lot when he needs to...most great coaches do it here n there)...sometimes because they are frustrated...sometimes because its true. And probably a lot of other reasons.

You could bring every hall of fame coach and the results would be the same.

WE HAVE NO LECHE PERIOD.

I feel so bad for the Parrish and X type players whom are selling out on every play.

I’m telling you right now if I was a player on this team at practice and I detect any of this . I’d yell out he you get off my D you got no game get out we’ll play a man short.

assuming Miami has a full lot of 85 scholarship players I don’t think Mario brought in 55 of them.

yup and by next season opener it'd be about 2/3s Mario guys. by year 3, it'll be all Mario or should be mostly Mario. It kinda sucks that the 24 schedule is rough bc it'll be another 4-6 loss season but that one will be more understandable given the way Mario wants to build and how tough that schedule is
