If Miami Wins the Bowl Game

Finishing strong is what he should do as a good coach. Losing 4 in a row is not. Still, I give him a pass this year for finishing strong, and closing with a great recruiting class.

I know there is bound to be OUTRAGEOUS over reacting and it starts from posts like these. There's a strange time that's about to hit Florida. The kids we used to use for depth won't come here unless Miami starts producing consistent 1-2 loss seasons and competing for playoff spots starting next year. If kiffin gets FAU, him, strong and butch will be taking potential depth player who'll start at those schools. This win is a step in the right direction, but please don't be mistaken. This isn't going to yield the future results we'd like to see with these hires (bimbo and mcelweird aren't going anywhere either.)

Richt is John Cooper's love child. They share the same coaching DNA. In short, 9-10 wins per season, losing big games, and a cloud of dust

I expect him to keep Miami in 9-10 win football purgatory and consistently losing big games, throughout his tenure here. That's who richt is, and I don't expect him to become some godly football coach at 56 years old, and after 16 years as a HC.

The best indicator for future success is past performance. Richt has been 9 - 10 game winning it to death for his entire career.

Going forward we do not need or want to sign reach kids coming out of high school. If we lose a kid who wants to play in the American Athletic or Conference USA, then these are not kids we need or want. Sure, a kid at that level may blossom out of nowhere but that's the exception not the rule.

WVU is a pretty good team to beat, even though they're one of the least impressive 10-2 teams I've ever seen.
 
There should be a public mea culpa for all those who savaged Richt. It should be it's own thread and all those that were jumping out windows when we lost 4 games should be called out on it.
 
Some people have forgotten how bad our offensive line was when we were losing. You cant win games when the offensive line was that bad. There were some disappointing parts but the season overall was not a disappointment. I am very excited for next year. If we win the bowl game then that could flip a couple of recruits to go to Miami.

I think that this will be the last time we lose 4 games for a while. We have a really good defense, an offense that can score, a good coaching staff that can recruit, and we are in the backyard of the best talent in the world. We are only gonna get better.

Stop trying to pre-pat yourself in the back for "staying loyal to Richt" through losses that shouldn't have happened.

A four-loss season where we were eliminated from contention in the perpetually atrocious ACC Coastal by the end of October, gave away the FSU game, and underachieved mightily on offense. Yet you're asking if justifiably critical fans will apologize if we win some meaningless late December bowl game.

This season was a failure. The offense was a failure. Not keeping top talent home when we should be getting the first-year bump is a failure. Current results on the recruiting trail are unacceptable. Criticism is warranted. A bowl win would be nice, but it doesn't overcome all of that. Not even close.

Win or lose the bowl game...I'm concerned about Richt calling plays. I really do hope he comes to his senses and hires a dedicated OC.

His playcalling cost us at least 3 games this year and a shot at playing in the ACCCG for the first time. His record against ranked opponents is also a concern but I'm willing to overlook that if he hires a dedicated OC.
