If Miami Wins the Bowl Game

There should be a public mea culpa for all those who savaged Richt. It should be it's own thread and all those that were jumping out windows when we lost 4 games should be called out on it.

Mark Richt is the one that should be apologizing for a disappointing, underachieving season.

I see people using the word unacceptable a lot, what does that mean? If we lose the bowl game and that's unacceptable, what should we do? What's the next step after the coach has done something unacceptable?

A bowl win over a ranked team will make the year a success under a new coach. 8-4 with a good bowl victory exceeds Vegas expectations, and who can argue with Vegas. Richt is on the right path. Canes will return to prominence.

Coach Richt got the team turned around after the 4 losses, and we started playing well again. The coaching staff had most of the freshman playing like beasts. If Miami wins the bowl game will all the people on this board that trashed Coach Richt, his staff, his play calling, and might I say, anyone who stuck up for them on this board apologize?
What did he do to celebrate him? Lost against a team, excuse me, got assraped by a nd dline which was one of the worst in the country. Richt lost every meaningful game. Play calling was a mess in that 4 game losing stretch. After a promising start in his tenture he completely blew it and we fell apart again this year. Still really bad in comitting penalties (110th out of 128 Teams).

As always, when the coastal title was out of reach we started to play better. This season so far is a failure, don't try to spin it. The 4 wins at the end of the season were pretty but are meaningless, without winning the upcoming bowl game.

Winning this bowl game against a ranked team and beiing ranked in the top 25 would be a undeniable positive progress, tough.

There's nothing to apologize for, Richt lost to one of the worst Notre lame teams of all time. With the cupcake schedule they should have won 10 games. There's still much more improvement to do than win 8 games in the regular season.

A 4 game losing streak is a huge failure. That absolutely destroyed our momentum moving forward.i Love this staff but if we don't crush WVU in the bowl game then this was a complete Golden season

This. His playcalling was absolutely terrible in our 4 losses, and not much better against the 8 very bad teams we beat.

Win the bowl game decisively and we probably finish up season ranked 22 or 23 overall. Supposing we'd beaten UNC (we weren't beating VT on a short weak with a decimated team) and ND (should have won), we are at 10-2, probably ranked number 10 overall, but I suspect we would have gotten an Al Golden beat down special from Clemson in the ACC championship game along lines of 58-7, so we'd have ended up around 17th ranked overall. So in a near parallel universe with a "successful" 10-2 season, we end up ranked 5 spots and one win better overall (10--3 vs 9-4) Meh. I want championship rings, this season was a kick the tires season for Richt. Looks like he figured out a good line combo and offense, so if Kaaya comes back he should put up top 5 draft pick level stats and the OL (assuming recruiting finishes strong) will have 10x the talent.

Talk shīt on message boards.

Threaten to fly planes.

Talk more shīt on message boards.

Basically, a bunch of stuff that won't affect his job status.

Oh cool. I was starting to think there was some way to fire coaches on the spot, or like we'd jump them in the parking lot.

LOL no . Most live to hate. We are much better then we were last year despite our records being the same. It took 8 games to get the Goldenization out of our system and once we had success against a really good Pitt team we turned it around .

Any season where we don't win the ****** coastal is a failure. A December bowl game doesn't alter that.

If Rick really wants to start silencing the skeptics win this bowl game. It is unbelievable between the FSU and bowl loss losing streak amazing that many of us aren't suicidal by now(maybe some are). They need to win this game it has been long enough and tired of losing to these mediocre weak **** teams in bowl games.

This game could set the tone for next season. How would we know about setting the tone last meaningful bowl win was 2004 vs. FSU(will NOT count Nevada). Also the irony of FSU last bowl win tired of losing to those guys!

The 04 bowl win was the Peach over UF. Orange vs FSU was 2003.

I agree that the perception of the season largely hinges on the bowl. If we finish 9-4 and ranked it's a decent season although certainly not special. If we lose and finish 8-4 the season's a dud.
