Coach Richt got the team turned around after the 4 losses, and we started playing well again. The coaching staff had most of the freshman playing like beasts. If Miami wins the bowl game will all the people on this board that trashed Coach Richt, his staff, his play calling, and might I say, anyone who stuck up for them on this board apologize?

A bowl win will be a step in the right direction. Don't overplay it.

This season was not what it could have been, IMO.

We should be finishing the season 11-2 at worst.

9-4 would be alright but overall the season is a disappointment.

A bowl win helps salvage the season. But that's all it is...a bowl win over WV.

We still lost to fsu.

He deserved it because October was a ****show and thankfully unlike the last three staffs he decided to make a change in the second half of the Notre Dame game.

Apologize?

We lost to every meaningful opponent we played this year.

DO BETTER

IMO the entire season rests on the bowl. A win and there's tangible progress, a loss and we once again can't beat a team that is equal or better than we are. Right now our signature win is Pitt, not very signature.
While there's signs of progress evident, I'd like it to translate to a win on the feild.

Well said. That play calling in the middle 4 games wqs so basic. Stevie Wonder could see lack of offensive creativity and vertical passing game was non-existent. Should have won at least 2 more games. 1 more at the very least.

He won 4 games he was supposed to win...not crowning him for that after losing at least 2 (possibly 3) games he shouldn't have with his stubborn playcalling.

The season is a disappointment, no doubt. You lose to FSU, Notre Dame and VT.

However Miami wins the bowl game it can take some of the pain away.

The season is a disappointment and losing the bowl game turns it into a complete disaster.

Pretty much all of this. The coastal was there for the taking.

He beat one good team this year in Pitt.

-he lost at home to the worst FSU team since the Jeff Bowden years
-he lost to an average unc team with a terrible defense that beat the crap out of our offense (which is his primary responsibility)
-the vt loss I could understand with it on the road and with a few days to prepare
-Notre dame absolutely sucked this year and we lost to them.

Given our talent and schedule, we ABSOLUTELY should have finished 11-1 this year and played in the acc cg against Clemson (who would have beaten us).

So, we SHOULD be 11-2 right now. No more blaming golden,
Our talent or anything else.
We should be 11-2 given out talent and the schedule we had.

Agreed. The coaching staff took too long to switch the OL when they knew it sucked early on. Having the OL we have now for the whole season, we'd probably be 11-2 or 12-1.

In my opinion, this has always been a transition season. Miami hasn't won a meaningful game in a long, long time. It hasn't won a bowl game since beating Nevada 10 years ago. Our kids need to learn how to win games that matter when it matters. If Kaaya doesn't throw an interception Miami goes up either 16-3 or 20-3 against FSU and the game is over. And Miami lost in the worst conceivable way. Miami had a hangover going into the North Carolina game and that hangover continued on a short week at Blacksburg.

For me this bowl game matters because West Virginia is a 10-win team and ranked in the Top 20. A win gives us momentum going into NSD and spring and then fall camp. Miami has 17 starters coming back and a front seven that can compete with anyone in the Top 20 next year. At times we had 6 true freshmen on the field on defense. Think about that for a second. Miami gets Virginia Tech (and Notre Dame) at home and an FSU without Dalvin Cook. That kid has single-handedly beaten Miami for three years.
