If Miami played LSU next weekend..

What concerns you at all from the defensive side? Depth is concerning but you can't look at the defensive line, now without big time contributors, and see there's no drop-off?

With the offensive line being in disarray, the offense will not be 'okay' in any sense of the word. This is a HUGE problem right now

Teams adjusted to our schemes and we didn’t have an answer. I mean zero for an answer. I was at the Clemson game in Charlotte and man I’ll never forgive The coaches for that **** show. Clemson was better just not 38-3 better! It could have been 70 if Dabo didn’t call off the dogs in the 3rd qtr.

Anyway my point is the O line sure it is an issue right now. Let’s see what happens in the fall. Just based on the last 3 games I don’t have a lot of optimism on the D side of the ball. Maybe they will surprise me?

However with the right QB we can take a huge leap this season. I don’t see the huge playmaker on D outside of maybe Garvin. And he isn’t covering anyone.

Rick's 3rd year here and still doesn't have the QB1 figured out.

Not bashing anyone just stating the facts.

I agree...definitely disconcerting. I thought CMR was supposed to be a QB whisperer?!? Coached Charlie "Small Fries" Ward to the Heisman and a ship...Coached Mr. Winkie to a pro career and was able to get him drafted at 45 years old ;)

I think Richt is a good man, and has done good for our program considering the last 15 years...BUT, hate me if you want, I just don't see him getting us to the top of the mountain. In order to be great, you have to be able to adapt and continually put yourself in uncomfortable and challenging situations, not fall back on what is comfortable and known to you and expect continual success. I think the game has possibly passed Richt by. He would make an amazing AD at Miami though...hands down.

Da fuq? We were a second half team all of last year. If you think we lost to Clemson because of a failure to adjust you have no idea what you’re talking about.

So in your humble opinion Rick has QB1 figured out adequately?

I'll never understand how the standards we as fans and the program as a whole have disintegrated so shockingly over the last 15 years.
Cane you have to understand this board is full of Rosier lovers and most of them have erected life size statues of CMR in their bedroom. If you say Perry and Williams upside is worth starting vs. another year of loser Malik people will start crying. Because he won 10 games last year he is better then any other QB we have ever had.

Miami lost that game for two reasons. One, uncontrollable, Irma causing UM to play without a bye, and two, Mark Richt for not scheming to WIN.

Deejay Dallas in the wildcat was a huge spark in the Virginia Tech and Notre Dame games. Richt put that wrinkle in his back pocket and didn't even revisit it until we were down to Pitt (few plays), and the second half vs Clemson.

It was miserable watching Richt force things that didn't work, 3 and outs, knowing that he had a wrinkle that had been successful every time it was used. He should have expanded on the wildcat. Or at the very least, acknowledge that Deejay Dallas answered everytime his number was called, and find a way to get him the ball in space.

Every game we watched, we heard 'Richt is saving the playbook'. I even started to believe it when I saw Rosier make huge mistakes anytime Richt did something different. But Richt would find success in something and abandon it.

I still maintain Richt is in over his head calling plays. It's an entirely different dynamic now from his FSU days. Not to say he can't adapt and eventually be successful, but you're at the University of Miami. There should be no learning on the job.

Rosier would get the nod.
Perry would be too much of a liability vs. LSU in an away game. I almost get nauseous feeling that way, KNOWING Rosier was such a liability for the team last season.

I was so fed up last season with Rosier, I didn't care if Deejay ran the offense out of the wildcat the entire game.

I still am not confident in Rosier, make no mistake about it. I just think that if today is any indication of what we're facing going into the Fall — Rosier less than impressive, Perry at his heels but unable to separate himself from Rosier — Rosier has to start in game 1.

If it was Bethune-Cookman, and the QB battle was this close, Miami could afford to go with Perry.

But there doesn't seem to be enough upside there to start him (AS IS) vs. LSU. I am really disgruntled even fathoming this scenario. I know how handicapped Miami is with Rosier leading the offense. If Perry can't separate from Rosier is virtually any phase of the game, that tells me all I need to know about the state of affairs with this offense.

My only hope now, is that either Perry or Williams make great strides going into the fall, and are far better than today's spring game. Ideally, I wanted Williams to redshirt. But if he shows progress, while Rosier and/or Perry remain stagnant, I say let him lead.

But right now -
Rosier 🤮😷
Perry 🤔
Williams 👶-🧒-TBD

Not sure if you were at the same spring game as I was, but in no way did Perry out perform Williams. Williams is by far the best QB on the roster.

Not a fair assessment, Williams didn't play vs the 1's. You may be right in the end, but I'm not comfortable putting equal merit in performance vs 2nd string, when Rosier and Perry were with the 1's

No you are right with Clemson we sucked all game long. With Wisky they adjusted after the 1st quarter and that was all she wrote.

A few times WR dropped passes. One big one was Jeff Thomas who dropped a pass from Perry that may have been a TD if he had caught it an ran in.

The drops get very little attention in the QB Debate. There needs to be some accountability on the receivers too. Its like how O-lines are viewed; you never hear much about them when you have 1,000 yard rushers - its all about the backs. Then when you have 400 yard rushers, it becomes all about the O-line.

There were a lot of drops of well thrown balls last season that hit recievers in the hands, or chest that were no fault of the Q. That includes some of our best receivers with multiple drop games. The one I carry into this season is Thomas dropping that 50 yard pass in the ACC Title game when it was only 7-0. We needed that catch bad right then.

I agree. Richt likes Qbs that don't take many chances. Right now N'kosi is to inconsistent, but I think the offense actually can move when he is running it. To many times Rosier will just disappear in games and then reappear.

Where do you guys come up with this stuff? At Georgia he presided over one of the most prolific gunslingers in that program history.

Rosier played vs the 1s. Perry played 1 rep in the first half versus the 1s. He played 2 reps in the 2nd half versus the 1s ... All his other reps were with the 2s, like Jarren. In fact, Perry's last rep was against a combination of the 2s and 3s in the seondary. I followed an online play by play that said that. Richt confirmed it in his press conference. too.

Personally I think Perry and Williams should be getting reps against the first team all the time. IDK what they do in practice when they scrimmage.

Please, dudes QB recruiting outside of Stafford and DJ were all safe. He had game managers mixed in with QBs who didn’t take many risk. Which is one of the reason he was fired at Georgia. And your full of **** if you think other wise.

What exactly do you mean by "figured out"?

That’s why he was fired? Man, Nick Saban must be burning on his hot seat. What a retarded comment.
