IF golden were fired

wish i could say "since golden will be fired..." but if he were fired, players are allowed to transfer without sitting out a year, right? anyone have a good idea whether we would lose some key players or not? you hear about how the players are frustrated with the coaches, especially on D, but then you see the players defend the coaches in interviews (of course they really dont have a choice but still). i guess it would depend on who we hired, but still curious everyones thoughts.

Players would still be forced out a year if they transferred. The exception to this rule is a list of hardships that are usually pretty hard to argue your case for.
 
they still have to sit out. i think penn state was the exception based on the circumstances.
 
ooo gotcha ok i didnt really know what the deal was there. well at least we have that in our favor. although i think we would all agree playing under goldenofrio is a "hardship" hah
 
Like it or not UM is handcuffed to Golden at least through next year. President & A.D. assured that when giving him an extension that UM can not afford to buy out and still have money to hire a descent coaching staff to replace him.
 
The one big coach/player link I see is not with Golden. It's Brad Kaaya to James Coley....for what that's worth. I still don't know if Coley is any good but I just saw him listed on a site as a future head coach. I know he's a great recruiter.

Its kinda hard to say you "found" someone when they're the top rated player of their position. Thats like the Colts saying "We found Manning and Luck" lol
 
The NCAA would instantly implement some exception that would allow our entire team to transfer to the $EC school of their choice without any penalty.
 
If Butch was coming, the players would stay.

And if we hire him BEFORE the end of he season, he could be really burning up the recruiting trail, and pick up many that Golden is going to miss.
