IF Emory Starts/Plays……

We’re going to find out real quick if Mario is playing to keep this close, or he’s actually trying to win.

FSU will be about as c0cky as they can possibly be. We can either hang around and make them nervous provided we wake up on offense/our DLine gets pressure, or we can go down 14-0 early, quit on Mario, and end up losing something like 45-6.

Emory should play because we're playing with House money & the starter can't stop turning the ball over...

Idk if you guys know this but in this era of CFB, TF QB's play & have success, it's happened multiple times on teams far better than ours.

If Emory really isn't ready & can't play behind a dude who is practically begging to get benched, then we got a lot bigger issues at hand than most would be willing to admit.

If they don't start Emory, it's because they're basically tanking the season, the question then becomes why?
Bingo.

Everyone seems to think we will solve it in the portal, but the more the QBs implode and the offense looks terrible, the harder that gets for a HC with a reputation as a QB killer and bad offensive mindset...

Truth

And it's not like we're running 823 different plays with 9. How many plays will 17 need to learn and practice?

Until Dawson’s Monday weekly presser yesterday, I was 100% convinced TVD would start against the semenholes. He was asked about, and addressed the situation with TVD, right out of the gate. After some of the comments Dawson made yesterday, I’m not so sure TVD starts or at at least if he does start and is ineffective, he gets pulled and Emory gets to play. I’ve attached the Dawson presser below.

If Emory starts/plays, we MUST support him win or lose. Unless he’s just a complete disaster, we need to give him the benefit of the doubt being a true freshman starting/playing against our most hated rival. He’s most likely our future starting QB and he needs to know we’ve got his back.

Well, that will be the excuse everyone will use to completely turn on the kid.

The hope for the future is shattered if Emory looks like the QB no other team in the country wanted vs the gem that Ponce and Mario found. All the 3* Mac Jones, Pat Mahomes, Josh Allen hype goes away and a different reality creeps in. As of now Mario can sell the unknown to recruits and the fan base. That all vanishes if Emory looks like a pumpkin.

Last week, I thought TVD gave you the best chance to win. Now, I don't think he does. TVD has completely lost all confidence in himself. He's completely lost out there. Until he can mentally pull himself together, it's tough to justify having him start.

A lot of these guys quit in front of the home crowd a year ago. They'll do it even worse on the road. I fully expect it if there's no pulse on offense.. which I also expect.

Unlike last year, we really haven’t seen the guys give up -especially on defense. They were in on over 80 plays against UVA and last week against NCST, they stopped them on the 1 and held them to a FG when the game was really already decided.

Listening to Guidry, he seems to have his group hanging together and playing at a high level. Obviously, it’s the other side of the ball where the big issues are.

This is the most Miami thing that could happen and is equally as likely as Emory starting.
The most miami thing that would happen is that regardless of anything else that changes or not, we lose this game and the next 2, finish with a top 15 class, and go 7-5/8-4 next season and try to guess how long until Mario is fired while hoping for new assistant coach hires to be good

Brown is unplayable because he can't pass.

He can go under center and pick up first downs in short yardage situations. Or would you prefer we line up in shotgun again and hand the ball off to a RB on 4th and short?
