If Canes are 10-2 and NOT in the Playoffs

If we go 10-2, we will be an enormous non-CFP draw. Maybe the biggest. We'll get in a good bowl and as long as we go 11-2, I will be somewhat happy. If Mario can win out (assuming we don't make the ACCCHGM or CFP), we will be one of the hottest teams out there and if we nab a stud QB from the portal, We'll start the year ranked somewhere in the top 7 and I could even see the top 4.

And then lose to Wake and Cal and finish 10-2 again.

Regardless, if we miss the playoffs we need to win whatever bowl we go to to get to 11-2. They’ll need some juice to offset the “Miami collapsed again” talk going into next year. I mean it’s pretty bad if we go 10-3 again considering there’s a real possibility Wake Forest is going to get to 10 wins.
A bowl win would at least end the season on a high note.

Please no painful freezing game in Yankee Stadium, which I would feel obligated to go to as a nearby resident. That rout by Wisconsin in '18 was the worst game experience in my life. We did not want to play that day. It was even worse to sit through than our drubbing in a downpour vs Va Tech in '09.
It seems that if Miami isn't in a meaningful game during bowl season, they pack it in. I went to the Louisville Miami 2013 Russell Athletic bowl and it was painful watching Miami quit before half time.

Why that’s always the case the ACC got Clemson and SMU last year
My brain went into overdrive thinking that a lower ranked ACC Champ could be passed over in lieu of a top 13ish Miami squad. Wishful thinking is getting the best of me

Man you've seen a ton of artists. Who's the one you never saw but wish you had?
I don't mean like seeing The Doors at Whisky a GoGo in 1967 (we weren't born for that). I mean like an artist that for one reason or another you simply missed. For me, Van Halen with DLR, pre Van Hagar.
Yeah I've seen a ton of shows in my day but the one I regret never seeing to this day is Van Halen with DLR same as you! I saw the first Van Hagar tour in April 86 at the Snortatorium but it wasn't the same. Then saw DLR in Oct 86 with his first solo band with Steve Vai on guitar, Billy Sheehan on Bass and Greg Bissonette on Drums. I knew where they were staying so a few of us met Greg, Billy and Steve in the lobby of their hotel. Billy and Greg were so cool. Got some sticks from Greg. I had my knockoff Les Paul in my car because I wanted Steve to sign it but Steve was plastered so he didn't get to it lol. Never saw Dave.

Assuming we take ole miss spot if we win out right lol no way they let them in with no HC if lane decides to leave before playoffs

I doubt they pull a 11-1 SEC team.. They would just send them on road or something

Incredible

It will never happen but like Mike Ryan said, I love the idea of playing bowl games the first week of the next season!

Not sure what to do with playoff teams but it would help recruiting and draw interest early in the season.

Bowl games are meaningless now!

Perhaps someone answered this later, but I went through the first page, and no one specifically said. Also, by the way, not sure everyone knows but ESPN has a division called ESPN events which actually outright owns about 17 bowl games including some with acc tie ina

Lastly, I know people talk about the pop tarts game but actually I’d rather go to a bowl game that people pay attention to and gets a lot of social media hits just win the **** thing if you’re gonna go less concerned about going to The who gives a **** bowl and where the **** is that USA . People get stuck on the name, but it’s one of the highest payouts the ACC has and at least they promote their **** event and the eyeballs and ratings are good.

ACC BOWL SELECTION CHART
===========================

1. COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF (12-team CFP)
------------------------------------------
• ACC Champion → Auto-bid if ranked Top 6
• Any other ACC team can be selected as an at-large

2. NEW YEAR'S SIX (When Not Used as CFP Rounds)
-----------------------------------------------
• Orange Bowl → ACC tie-in if not a CFP Quarterfinal/Semifinal
• Other NY6 bowls (Peach, Fiesta, Cotton, Sugar, Rose) can select ACC teams
based on national ranking and committee placement.

Once CFP + NY6 teams are removed, EVERYONE ELSE goes into one pool.

3. ACC "POOL OF BOWLS" (NO PECKING ORDER)
------------------------------------------
The ACC does NOT use a draft or ranking system.
The following bowls work WITH the ACC to place teams:

• Gator Bowl
• Holiday Bowl
• Sun Bowl
• Pop-Tarts Bowl (Orlando)
• Duke’s Mayo Bowl
• Fenway Bowl
• Pinstripe Bowl
• Military Bowl
• Gasparilla Bowl
• Birmingham Bowl
• Las Vegas Bowl
• LA Bowl Hosted by Gronk

All of these are equal in conference selection rights.

4. HOW THE ACC DECIDES PLACEMENT
----------------------------------
ACC + Bowl reps collaborate based on:

• Team record and season profile
• Avoiding repeat trips (don’t send the same team 2–3 years in a row)
• Avoiding repeat opponents
• Geography/travel expectations
• Expected ticket sales
• TV matchup value
• Ensuring variety for fanbases

Result: A lower-payout bowl can get a 9–3 team, and a higher-payout bowl
can get a 7–5 team — because payout does NOT determine priority.
