I think Beck would for sure play. He needs quality film. Bain, Cici, Messidor, Thomas, Scott, Blay, Bell (if he goes) I could see sitting a bowl.Does Beck play in a bowl game ? Not so sure. How about Bain and cici. Likely first rounders.
I was at the game, seeing the strawberry pop get TOASTED was a sight to see. Now if they toast, the cookies and cream, we got beef**** the playoff , I want my get back from the last pop tarts bowl. I wanted nothing more than to watch the orange and green pop rare get cooked.
Our team would want to play an SEC and probably wouldn’t get up for any other gamesI live in Orlando so for reasons that are completely selfish and only apply to me, give me the Tarty if we're not in the playoff.
I'd rather play someone other than BYU though. I guess last year the Big 12 Champ Game loser went there, so if it's the same this year, that's why BYU is projected since the odds are they'll lose to Texas Tech in Dallas.
Gator Bowl would be cool against an SEC team. Maybe Vandy or Tennessee?
+rep for apocryphal
Yeah, completely different world. Iowa State doesn’t have the stigma of being a perennial under achiever with a massive NIL and program budget. 11 wins is a world different than 9 or 10 wins.howd tht juice work out for Iowa State? the non playoff bowls dont matter. theyre more like a preseason gam e
San Diego for a bowl game does sound nice (aside from getting shafted by the committee of course)We could end up in the Gator Bowl, or the Sun Bowl.
But unfortunately, currently as it stands now we're projected to be put in the toaster vs BYU for the Pop Tart party.
However, it's actually a good thing that we're projected there this early, because normally the Bowl game we're projected for isn't the Bowl game we actually play in.
Also, BYU probably isn't gonna be in that Bowl either, so depending on how we finish we likely won't be playing for Pop Tarts in late December.
Hoping for the Holiday or Gator Bowl.
(If we miss the playoffs)
I am all for rebranding them as “futures “ games where freshmen and non regulars play ……..I wouldn’t go to a bowl game again if it was played in my front yard. In fact, I’d close the curtains to avoid watching.
Last year was just a disgusting experience with Cam playing 1/2 and so many quality starters no showing. They either need to fix the bowl games so players play or get rid of them.
I mean I love the pop tarts bowl but hopefully we aren’t in it again hahaIs there any way to avoid the apocryphal "Pop Tarts" bowl?!?
who decides who goes to which non-New Years 6 bowl games?
I hate that game. Please no painful freezing game in Yankee Stadium, which I would feel obligated to go to as a nearby resident. That rout by Wisconsin in '18 was the worst game experience in my life. We did not want to play that day. It was even worse to sit through than our drubbing in a downpour vs Va Tech in '09.
they won 11 last year and currently 6-4. it doesnt really carry over year over year with NIL and portal movement nowYeah, completely different world. Iowa State doesn’t have the stigma of being a perennial under achiever with a massive NIL and program budget. 11 wins is a world different than 9 or 10 wins.
itll be half the roster regardless. Our team would want to play an SEC and probably wouldn’t get up for any other games
this should be the move tbh. play the young guys and let them get experience. the bowl practices dont matter for any draft eligible or senior.I am all for rebranding them as “futures “ games where freshmen and non regulars play ……..
i think UM prefers it to be in state bowl or a spot where they have a huge alumni base (reason why they like the NY bowl games).San Diego for a bowl game does sound nice (aside from getting shafted by the committee of course)
