Idk why some of you are so concerned about Nickel as our starter

Look at his stats at the highest level of GA football:

Go get the OT from Colorado and solidify the OL. Our run game will be elite. Plenty of good WRs. All we need Nickel to do is manage the game and not ***** it up. No one is asking him to be Cam.

Just remember every good college QB had to start once upon a time with zero experience. The sky isn’t falling.

I heard most of his reps have been with walk-ons. Would love to hear how he does with the first team offense.
They aren't going to flat out rip someone on the team but the writing is on the wall.

He's on the shorter side, doesn't have a great arm, and sounds like a gunslinger that puts the ball in harms away a bunch.

How about 9 months from now after practicing with the 1’s?
That’s not how you decide on your future qb. If I’m a coach I need to see it now before I’m comfortable handing my program off to you. Taking guys on potential is the number one reason Gm’s get fired. Production is best bet. Hence why coaches go to the portal for their qb. Far less risk if he’s shown he can do it elsewhere.

Now I’m not saying he won’t be that guy but to this point he’s shown he needs a lot of work before handing things off to him.

I hear you but how will we ever get high school quarterback recruits to come here if we don’t plan on ever playing them?

Than you need a QB coach who's devoted to developing his entire room because that's his sole job opposed to an oc who only has the time or attention span to work with his starter... I'm not worried about nickel or anyone else we give the job to because we'll limit his risk. We need to prove we can develop our own QBs otherwise every year this is where we'll be come December/January. It's stupid as **** that were worried about this several days away from playing for a national championship. It's a failure by the ncaa and it's a failure by our staff for not getting enough reps for development.

Agree 100% about a dedicated QB coach

Nobody said we don’t ever plan on playing them. They just need to earn the PT. Nickel is behind Emory on the depth chart. He’s earned nothing

I never understood why Williams was the first guy off the bench this year. We know he's not good enough.

I get the staff like his character, but if he portals out he portals out - you needed to give reps to Nickel and maybe even Anderson to see what they have.
