Identity versus schematics

Because its so inside run dependent, and a successful one at that, there is soooo much you can do schematically to have a 50 pts offense every game against every team, with that mentality.
The amount of short yardage plays you can have when everyone and their grand mother knows your running up the middle, run flats, (i.e. what we score with Bauman), run that until they stop it.

As a former offensive player, and OC you can scheme up days of yards with this offense with the inside run as the base.

We don’t self scout even though Mario says it all the time . You can’t be if you’re this predictable

When was the last time he/Dawson had an actually scripted drive of plays that establish or went against previous tendencies? Even more importantly when was the last time that script came out at half time to adjust on the first half. I’ve said it before it’s almost as if Dawson just has a bag full of plays that he just randomly pulls out during the game. Even worse is that it looks even more apparent that they don’t bother to look at the personnel they have on the field before calling the plays. Have done it consistently not just this year but in the past, lining up guys like McCormick in the slot on obvious passing downs.

What difference will it make.This is his 3rd OC in 4 years and it still looks like the same garbage offense…like I said before there’s one constant or should I say 1 and a half constants….need a hint?

This is major disrespect to Ferentz. Ferentz wins 8 or 9 games a year with inferior talent in a better conference and is great coaching in close games during crunch time.

Mario has the personnel to be the team Mario wants to be. The problem is Mario is the coach so they'll never be that team. The same reason we have so many penalties, is the same reason we aren't a dominant run team, and is the same reason we have a good roster. This sucks.

That’s just one play. I’m talking an entire 10+ play “script” that has defenses running all over the place not knowing what’s going on. Like OCs have done to us at the start of the game and 2nd half for decades. FFS our offense now is comical

100% on Mario and I think more fans on here see that versus those that don’t. Question is, do those that make the decisions see that and what would it even take to hold his *** to the fire? Is there any scenario where his seat gets hot?

Recruiting certainly isn’t going to save us as Mario will only find new innovative ways to lose… that’s the only place he’s creative. And he’s not going to be able to sell recruits on a turn around and getting better each season anymore. Those controlling resources gotta know that the proverbial suck tax is gonna get even higher for recruits going forward. And what future coordinator will take the risk of coming here under Mario?

yeah not disagreeing but im a realist. Mario has 2 more years minimum. He's not firing Dawson so only realistic hope for an offensive change is for dawson to take a job elsewhere. odds of that? 20%?

THIS! I’ve told my wife and 6 year olds so many story’s about old teams from my younger years and all they know is crap like the past three weeks.

All they associate Miami game days with is misery and pain. Depressing.
